LeBron James

Don't see how they don't win a ring.

A declining Celtics, revamped Heat, and the ever-improving Orlando.

The East is poised to become respectable again.

Add in that at best LA has 1 more title left in them (Phil will retire after this season, no one has 4peated in 30 years, etc) and its pretty much a given that the league will be wide open. Alot of guys that have carried this league the past 10 years have either fallen off or are about to fall off. Its a new decade and it will be a new changing of the guard. This offseason is the beginning of that change.

Felton, T-mac, James, Lee, Admare - starting lineup ?????

Championship or not?

To hell with Felton and T-Mac. The Knicks need to try to get Monta Ellis from Golden State then sign a guy like Mike Miller or JJ Redick. Run the offense through LBJ and they'd have a legitimate post threat with Stoudemire, a slasher in Ellis, and a great long-range shooter in Miller or Redick. I don't think they would add Lee to that mix, but a dependable center like Brendan Haywood should jump at that chance.

They don't want Ellis. If LeBron comes to NYK then Lee is staying. If he does not come to NYK, well word on the street is that Lee will be shipped to GSW for Anthony Randolph, Vladamir Radmanovic, and Kelenna Azubuike or Ronny Turiaf.

rumors are starting to fly out that The King is headed to...

ar122745668988512.jpg

Citing multiple sources, Newsday reported on its website early Thursday morning that James had chosen to join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in South Florida.

Chris Broussard is reporting on ESPN's website and posted on Twitter that "sources with knowledge of the situation" said James will go to Miami "barring a late change of heart."

Broussard's story says "sources close to James insist that his heart is in Cleveland and remaining with the Cavaliers was his preferred choice, (but) they say he had concerns about signing a six-year deal there and ending up '31 years old, with bad knees and no title.' "

James' inner circle is very tight currently and only a few people besides James himself could confirm such a report. The Plain Dealer was unable to immediately verify the story.

does Lebron think he's Brett Favre or something? Guy needs an hour press conference to announce where he is going to play? What a joke!

Why is this a joke??? For one the money is going to charity.... But us and the media has blew this up!!!!!! I've never seen this much attention given to one FA. I mean late night talk shows, national news, local news, radio, cnn, espn, and on and on and on. Everyday, who is doing what, when, and where.... Two years of multiple teams preparing for this day. This FA period has been like none other in sports that I've ever seen. Therefore it should not be announced or treated as it's just a normal signing. I have no issues with it at all..... And this is coming from someone who is not a big LBJ fan.

I do hope he leaves so he has a chance at a title, instead of being stuck in the same holding pattern in cleveland.

People are hating on LeBron too for all of this. But lets keep it in perspective. He's only had 1 interview (Larry King a month ago) since his season ended and has avoided speaking to the media. He cant help it if the world wants to know what his next move is. We havent ever seen anything like this. I mean this guy is outshining the entire league right now. People care more about what LeBron is gonna do next than the defending champs or Kobe. When he steps to that mic tonight at 9PM, more people will be watching then watched the NBA Finals. I can see why some folks would be mad about that.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
