Eh....I mean Landon Collins is not an elite cover guy. He is definitely more of a box safety and he got a mega contract. Regardless, I still say the Reid deal looks pretty good at the moment.

Agreed. I was definitely unsure about it when it was signed based on the safety market last off-season, but in hindsight watching how the safety market blew up this off-season, it was a good deal.

Remember when some people were losing their minds over the Reid contract? Looks pretty shrewd in hindsight. Safety market went HAM.

Glad I was wrong on this one. With seemingly all positions blowing up in terms of pay, you’d think there would have to be a weak link somewhere. Maybe the gap in pay between starters and backups has increased drastically or something?

I wasn't a fan of the Reid contract. To me, he seemed to be too much of an extremes player. Either he made really good plays or he made spectacular whiffs. I'm hoping that with Ron making the defensive calls now and a chance for him to get a full offseason in with a defensive coach, he can close those extremes and be a more consistent safety. In hindsight, looking at the contracts being handed out now, it was a good value for what we got. Still got my concerns about his consistency, but I'm optimistic.

I think we can be very valuable when we aren't playing him out of position like last year. Eventually we need to get a guy next to him that can actually cover. I have very little hope of Gaulden being that guy.
