I repeat, Moore Isn't The Answer

He won the Seahawks game, they had 6 passes dropped from wide open receivers. Alexander was hurt, but started. They missed an extra point, plus a field goal, thats the win for them right there. The Cowboys would have put the game out of reach, but we picked Romo off in the end zone. Tampa Bay sat all of their stars on defense, cause they had to play a wild card playoff game a week later. He threw one pick in the Tampa game, should have had another one or two for sure. I don't see what you people see, unless you are doing what about everyone who calls me out about this is doing, watching these highlights on here and not the whole games. Jake sucks I agree, but if the coaching staff says he's our best quarterback, he probably is. They see all 3 of these guys in practice, so they know more about them than we do. Now we got linebackers telling Dan Morgan that Moore doesn't even know all the plays! That tells me how much he likes his job. He had to leave UCLA because of grades and go to a community college. Does that tell you anything? The kid is apparently lazy.

We need a qb, just not one we have under contract!

We've seen this season that Jake isn't deserving off his contract, and you seem more than ready to admit that.

With Moore becoming a restricted free agent next year -- and our season already shot -- don't you think it would be best to at least see if Moore's worth keeping around? We're not mathematically eliminated, but do you really think Jake's going to string together enough wins to get us in the playoffs? And if so, can you see him winning a playoff game? Going to the Super Bowl, etc.?

Fox is trying to save his job, thats the bottom line. I hate Jake, but I don't think Moore or Feeley will do any better. But yeah, if we lose this one start anybody at Qb. My point is, everyone is going on Matt Moore's 2-1 record, which you and I could have probably done. I'd let DeAngelo run the wildcat again like we did the year before when we all found out the hard way, that Weinke was not better than Jake!

Many people probably thought Jake, another undrafted free agent, would never start in this league. Ironically it was the same stubborn Fox that put Delhomme in over Peete who, like Jake now, had no business starting at the time.

So I sincerely doubt you know Moore is not worth keeping around.

Do you understand what a backup quarterback is on the roster for? So that he can come in and play at a high level if the starter should go down for whatever reason. Yes, they usually don't play as well as the starter, but when your starter is playing like Jake has this season I don't think it's out of the question to think Moore could outplay him.

    • I read that Pittsburgh is a possibility.  I think of college QB studs who had some form of mental quirk yet tons of talent--but their issue made being a team leader difficult and it led to their demise--going back:  Jamarcus Russell, Art Schlichter, Jeff George, etc. I think people forget that the QB must not only have talent, but they must lead.
    • I wish I knew more details, but the NIL money to 20-year olds combined with easy access to gambling sites is a side effect that these kids may not have considered.  To your point,A famous 2009 Sports Illustrated article titled “How (and Why) Athletes Go Broke” estimated that 78% of retired NFL players go bankrupt or face significant financial stress within two years of leaving the league.  I am guessing that ego and $$$ and the thrill of competition (most pro athletes love competition because they are the winners) makes it a powerful temptation.  Throw in the ease of gambling on your phone which is always in your hand, and I see your point x 10.
    • Freeling got some reps at RT when they gave Moton a rest day--I sorta hope Freeling gets brought along slowly as you describe.  It would be better for him for reasons you provide.  We have a really good problem.
