Observations: Yeah, this one hurts.

Man, I remember the days where Cam Newton would take games like last night into his own hands and willed him self to the win. Crashing through linebackers and defensive lineman with the occasional pass over the top to keep them on their toes.   Those were the days, we were unstoppable. He could always overcome, but for to long he has been battling complete and utter ignorance on his own sideline.  The obvious sign is they couldn't take a more than capable passer of the football and make him more efficient. Using his legs only when the game was on the line. Cam should be able to sit in the pocket and pick defenses apart at this point in his career with the weapons around and CMC coming out of the backfield. And please don't forget old reliable, Olsen. Who still plays his ass off every, single, down.

The amount of sheer talent this roster has held over the last few seasons was incredible. But the same glaring holes ever present. Our GMS, our coaches, our scouting department and ownership squandered a near decades worth of high level football players at their respective positions. And some may even say another decade prior.  Why is it that we can't make the leap? And it all falls back to leadership. Our only hope to get off this same track, to turn this into a formidable franchise, consistently year in and year out is David Tepper.  If he can surround the team with qualified Coaches, Scouts, and Managers we have something to look forward to. But this current Regime is dead to me.

The overall competency of the leadership in Charlotte has let our whole fanbase down. And now it's time for them to own up.  In 8 seasons, with a once in a generation talent at qb, the greatest MLB ever to play the game two Superbowl appearances should've been the minimum.  But leaving Cam without trust from the blindside, and allowing our Ferrari we stumbled upon to keep crashing into brick walls disregarding our 100 Million dollar investment, is the sole blame.

The roster talent has been there.  The guys that are assigned to make them into winners have failed us. It goes all the way back to Cams historic Rookie year.  Here is just a shortlist of where we have failed to utilize our wealth of talent.

1. Cams Rookie Season.  Chud had the best possible set up as any OC during the Cam Era. Two TE sets, a HOF WR, Legend of a LT,  strong running game and a gunslinging young and hungry QB. Problem is Ron had FUA at DT and our defense couldn't stop a nose bleed.  Oh and they decide to let Chud walk.

2. Shula steps in. Designed a good run game for us, that was solely carried by cam for 5 seasons straight with disregard to his body and lovedddd to run belly EVERY SINGLE FIRST down.  Just as Norv does now. Zero creativity and strategy from these two OCS. It couldn't get any worse.

3. Add zero offensive brains on the sideline to Ken Dorsey as Cams qb coach, or Norvs son.  We've never once came in and got some one to teach him ways to be more effective in the pocket. Yeah cams legs and arms were strong, but he needed to learn footwork, pocket presence and situational football to increase the longevity of his career through his accuracy. We have rode his sheer athletic ability to an up and down career as the panthers qb.  Just flashes of what we could be.

4. What scares me the most is if we don't move on from these dummies soon we are going to do the same to CMC.  How many times against Tampa did you see CMC in the slot?  Not many huh?  Belly plays up the middle on first down and that's all we saw from him, minus a few dump downs from the little in route he runs that everyone knows about now.  Armah on the sidelines, and CMC in the backfield protecting an already fragile Cam. Not even attempting to get our biggest offensive threat in space on the perimeter one on one with corners he consistently man handles.  Like I said Norv has zero creativity, or knowledge in what to do with these weapons.

5.  Don't even get me started on Ron Rivera. He has zero balls, zero awareness, zero urgency, and he's only their to be everyone's friend..I love the guy to death, and he damn sure can scout a linebacker but the poor guy just doesn't have it.  The best coaches in the game take risk, they move players, they make changes, do things different to keep teams guessing. But he just sticks to the same old Rivera. The offense sucks, your the head coach. Make a change. Don't just hire some old head that's had his time come in and run the same conservative bullshit you've always ran.

We don't see the leap because the leadership. Let's just hope Tepper will see his chance to put his pieces in place, so we can turn this team around. Otherwise, it was a fun ride watching Cam keep us in games. And Fielding a competitive unit. But those days are gone.  Hopefully we can find his replacement soon if he can't make it back to his old self.

Does anyone else honestly believe if Cam had better support and knowledge from his coaches and management throughout his career we may be talking about Cam with one Superbowl Ring and in an entirely different light?
