Gave up a Late round 2nd AND if they let Sanu walk then they can recoup a comp pick back.

They give up a little to help out their WR depth.

They won’t get a comp pick until 2022. Sanu is under contract next year.

Gronk himself recently said that wasn't happening.

Figured as much....didn't see him coming back, especially after the weight loss, but I can't help but think that Kraft and Brady wanted him back, and likely were nudging.

I think he himself fueled some of the speculation, honestly.

Of course, he is kind of a dick.

That 2nd will be like early 3rd anyways

Will still be a top 65 player in the draft next season....that's a LOT to get for Sanu.  Very good trade by the Falcons.

Players that we have gotten around that pick over the past few seasons:

Dante

Moton

Bradberry

He’s a perfect fit for NE.  Great route runner and physical.

Comp picks don't come higher than 3rd round though, correct? So even if they were to get a pick, a second rounder is still preferable to a possible third, and that's IF they don't offset it with another player's signing, right?

Possibly.  If he can't get on the same page with Brady in a hurry it will likely be sunk cost this season.

That system is NOT easy to learn.

They signed some other guy at receiver earlier this season, didn't they?

(I've forgotten his name but I remember someone saying he was a good chess player)

Not sure what this comparison is implying. Sanu is about as good of a guy as there is. He is a Torrey Smith.
