Cam doesn’t seem ready to go...

I have been disagreeing with the notion that there were "sources" that the Panthers were ready to move on from the Panthers.  A media personality giving personal speculation with no sources backing it up does not fit the bill.

I am completely fine with anyone making any speculation they want.  But referencing personal speculation as a "source" is just hilarious.  Its petty.  Its juvenile.

And its clearly only being done because it pushes a narrative you want.  Cam gone.

Nah.

Man, I can see now how one gets to 86,110 posts.  You have to argue every post to its least common denominator -- "Nah"

If you're not right about Cam being an ex-Panther, I hope you'll have the equal decency to post a few partially offsetting apologies, for all this redundancy.

It's generally what I post when the counter argument gets so stupid that it isn't even worth a response.

As far as Newton, it's not my report. I'm repeating what's been said by people with inside knowledge. These being people that I trust though, I believe them. As mentioned to someone else however, if they were to come back and say things have changed and it's now likely Newton will stay, I'd believe that too.

And yeah, that's possible. There's a couple of months between now and then where conditions could certainly be altered.

That sort of thing happened with Darryl Williams this past offseason. It was pretty much accepted that he thought the Panthers lowballed him and he wasn't interested in staying. Then came the report that they'd reached a deal.

Granted, some of us now wish that hadn't happened, but it did.

So for right now, the general belief is that Newton will be gone. And basically, until I see or hear otherwise, that's what I'm expecting.

Unless "you guys" refers to his fans and not Panther fans.

(groups that are not mutually exclusive, by the way)

Saying that he will continue to support the Panthers does have kind of an externalized ring to it as well.

Cary's right. It does overall sound like a goodbye.

Correct.
