Releasing Cam makes no sense, unless he is so clearly injured as to be unlikely to plat again but he is refusing to retire (weird and unlikely)

Panthers could be forced to trade him if they are uncomfortable with how he has recovered from his injures but he is cleared to play... because the panthers could refuse to extend him and Cam could demand a trade to a team that would give him an extension.

So much speculation at this point though.

Yeah but none of those shoulder issues seemed to rear their head. It was the foot.

Impossible to know that. He only played 2 games. Even before surgery the shoulder wasn’t an issue until mid season after more use.

Also, Cam admitted the shoulder was sore after the Buc game. Unfortunately, we still don’t know about his shoulder.

Valid. We will see what the deal is next year. If he continues to struggle with it(here or elsewhere) then we will know that was part of it.

I will freely admit it was the right decision to move on from him if shoulder issues are going to be chronic. If, however, it has healed fine and he is ready to play, it would be ridiculous to not play. This all assuming he is willing.

    • well i could go on & on but i will just highlight it by saying big difference trust me from the SEC & NFL.it's honestly like comparing apples & oranges especially when you are talking about a  LT. in the NFL you are going up against the most athletic freaks of nature the world has to offer . .the NFL also has much more exotic & complicated defensive schemes than what they are used to seeing at Georgis &  finally but most importantly you have to learn how to master complex bio mechanics where the body kick steps instantly as a reaction to these world class athletes rush without really making a conscious effort it's more of a learned muscle memory  & it can take thousands upon thousands of reps to master rproper technique for a LT in the NFL especially if you are still very raw like Monroe Freeling is    ...just saying
    • All that being the case or maybe being the case, we do not know Wharton’s timetable n the first place. They are being coy about it. Or maybe not. They say week to week the board says he is terminal lol and must be replaced. Who knows? It may or may not warrant a fairly drastic solution.  Walker is a bargain and we are not well stocked at OL despite recent investments. Freeling has yet to have a single padded practice. Too much speculation driving this plan IMO.
    • I would really love to know who’s actually making these moves because it’s weirdly vague who’s doing the hiring and firing.
