Hang around yes, as always.

Do I want a 5 year rebuild for 25 years of “potential” excellence? No, especially not with Hurney around. That will turn into 25 years of mediocrity. We were almost on top with Rivera and Gettleman before JR went bonkers. We didn’t need to rebuild and the common denominator is clear.

To be honest we didnt get to a super bowl till 5 years after we had the 1st overall pick so this question is a little confusing to answer....

So, it’ll be 6 years from now? Trevor “Sunshine” Lawrence’s 5th season?

But they were competitive before 2015

Winning the division 2 years in a row having a 12 win  season and winning a playoff game

All those things kept the fans excited ,watching and going to games

We will be lucky if we are relevant in 5 years imo. That means we will have found a compitent coach and a compitant qb... some teams have been looking for those for a long time with no success. Throw on top of that that we have many expensive contracts coming up and i see this team in 100% rebuild mode. I think 30 of 40 percent of our roster is going to be purged as the front office makes cap space aand room for the new coaches vision.

It was funny to see people celebrating last night agyer mot tealizing hiw significant this was. Im here for the long haul as i have been since 95, but i hope you people that were celebrating rons loss are ready for 5 to maybe even 10 years of bad football.

any team with Cam Newton on it is already competitive. if he goes then yes i'll wait but i doubt it would take that long.

Cam newton isnt coming back. If he does it will o ly be for the last year of his contract. There is a reason he isnt coming to the games. 2015 suoerman cam is gone. He cant stay healthy and he lost 30 pounds of muscle. He is not a good enough pocket passer to make up for his lack of a running threat. You dont pay a player based on what he did in the past... you pay him for what he is going to do in the future. Cam will be a salary cap sacrifice to make room for the new coach who may not even want cam.

It really shouldn't take that long if we bring in someone with an eye for the offensive side of the ball and a knack for actual innovation. The NFC South is solid but it should not be that difficult to put together a roster to compete for a playoff spot or the division crown at the very least. The Saints won it this year but really didn't have to do too much. Our defense is going to be a work in progress for awhile probably but we have the talent on offense for a quick turnaround if we can solve the dilemma at QB.
