Mike McCarthy - What Happened in Green Bay?

the article makes me want mcc even less, and i didn't want him at all.

serious protip - don't invite someone over and tell them to call their mother and say you expect more out of them as a man unless you know the family, and the family history intimately.  that was a seriously overreaching thing for mcc to do. i woulda been pissed too.   ive heard people say the same thing to friends like it was nothing, and they were noble for giving the advice.  you better know what you're talking about before you say that to anybody.   not everyone's family was like yours

I don’t disagree that many are egotistical with Brady being a prime example, you said you couldn’t think of one who isn’t. I don’t think either Manning brothers have a huge ego.

Oh, I misunderstood you.

That said, pretty sure a lot of Charger fans would disagree about Eli.

I agree, and I don’t like what Eli and his dad did in that draft but they clearly had a reason and stuck to it. Chargers fans can be upset all they want but how he has conducted himself since then weighs in his favor over that one decision.

He kept Belichick and Brady from going undefeated.

Whatever he is as a person, we should all be eternally grateful for that.

    • He does have speed. 21+ top end speed is very fast for a linebacker and his 3 cone drill time is considered excellent, close to elite.
    • This is awesome because you get to see the perspectives of the scouts--get a glimpse behind the curtain. I wonder whose doing this was; I am curious as to why David Tepper allowed it. Maybe it was his wife. Maybe Dan.  At least from my perspective--and probably one shared by other fans--when David Tepper bought the team, he closed everything off too much to the fans, and really didn't give an explanation. Things were obviously done because he (and/or some others wanted to do it). Remember when they used the guise of construction and all that to keep fans from seeing the team during practice? I know there are laws and safety and all that, but Tepper could've made it happen. And, of course, we all know that they essentially fired Jeremy from his independent contractor gig as a photojournalist. I never understood why they'd do that (and the negative reverberations obviously affected Jeremy and ultimately this place--i.e, us fans). The pie was (and is) certainly big enough to throw some scraps to the independents. I realize that you can't necessarily open the floodgates, but a few different perspectives from indy journalists whether in word or photos is a good thing in my mind.  So, it's great to see different perspectives. I will say this however: it is not without risk, as you know there will be some buster who will be calling the scouts out if the players flop. I think we should all keep in mind that the buck stops with the GM. It's nice to have one, however, that is so convicted in his people and process--and ultimately success, that he's willing to give fans access to this type of information. Pass this on to Tepper.
    • I hope he ends up being our best ever at the position. Ryan Kalil left big shoes behind that we haven't quite been able to fill since.
