Saw Brady got basically close to a million, we could still easily get him if we wanted. Hire him for around 3 million and make him an NFL O Coordinator

Dug a little bit into Coughlin's background just for the heck of it. Saw mostly names that we already knew. Did see a special-teams option - John Bonamego, recently let go from the Lions - that used to work for Coughlin in Jacksonville. I still think Chase Blackburn gets that job though.

One name though struck me as not necessarily a strong possibility, but a fun thought. That was Dom Capers, who has a background as a secondary coach and is currently a senior defensive assistant in Jacksonville.

Wouldn't that be funny? 

Coughlin also had Saints OC Pete Carmichael's late dad on staff.

Yeah his extension looks to me like something LSU did to try and limit distractions leading up to Monday. Didn’t really change our position at all if we actually want him, which I have no clue on.

What I was reading everywhere is they are in agreement on the contract but he didn't officially sign it

I thought they said they left outs for him in case he got offered an NFL job?

One of the local Louisiana papers had posted that he had signed the contract, but I looked again and they've since changed it to say "agreed to" so it may not be signed yet.

I don't know that they left in specific "outs" but from what I've read, he still could jump to the NFL. The contract would just have to be bought out (same as they did with Rhule).

Brady signing a contract that prevented him from going to the NFL if he wanted to would be hilarious, he had all the leverage.  If I had any guess his buyout to go to the NFL is free or substantially decreased.
