Rapoport's Guess: Panthers will look to trade Cam once healthy

If Wilson or Rodgers had an injury the year before they expected to get extended would they be willing to play on a "prove it deal"?  Would the team expect them to?

I find it amusing that some of the biggest Cam fans around here are also the ones expecting him to play on a bad contract.  I can't fault Cam one bit for looking for a good pay day and can't fault the team for not wanting to be the one to do it.

If we cut him a team would sign him for a fraction of the cost of what he would get if he played 2020 and dominated ..

Cam signing something now says that Cam believes in his head he's done and just wants to get anything while he can

5 is the ceiling.

Cam is 0-8 in his last 8, by the time opening day comes around it will be almost two full years since he's quarterbacked the panthers to a win.

Aint no way Rhule is coming to the NFL and attaching himself to that.  It just isnt happening.

I am wondering though what roster these posters that are saying we are a contender with cam are looking at.

Who is are starting dline in that scenario?  Who is the left tackle? Who is the middle lb?  Too many holes

So Richard Sherman thought he was done when he signed an incentive heavy contract coming off a torn achilles? He gambled on himself, won the gamble, got paid, and rubbed it in everyone's face.

Ah yes we are back to the 0-8 stuff.

As if future hall of famer Luke Kuechly didn't go 0-8 to finish 2018 and finish with 5 wins in 2019 along with the rest of the Panthers team.

Why would cam play on a one year deal?  You think he is (or his agent would let him) going to gamble on himself like that?

If Cam is gone, keeping CMC around for 2-3 rebuilding years seems...strange. Can we be sure he will still be at top form when we are ready to contend again?  And if Cam IS gone next  year, we need to just win 1 game, and that is it.

If you can get a first for him get it done

THE SEASON JUST ENDED.  THE ROSTER TODAY IS NOT THE ROSTER FOR THE 2020 SEASON!  WHY IS THAT SO HARD FOR YOU PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND?!?!

yeah, if Cam is gone? and Luke? heck, just trade CMC for picks.  Burn it all down. Focus on acquiring draft picks and sucking.

    • Seems to me that the Bucs have less fight in them now than they had in week 16. The real test is going to be if the Panthers can sustain focus and discipline throughout. With the Bucs being at home, maybe that gives them a little boost of confidence and energy.  Wouldn’t it be something if for ONCE the Panthers came out and dominated from the opening snap and just took this shook Bucs team to task?  If the Panthers see-saw form follows, we are in line for the W. Hard to say we have momentum but we do have a pretty clear pattern of following a loss with a win.  I’m going to say 24-16 Panthers!!
    • When Parcell’s said Bryce better “walk on water”…..the implied concern wasn’t that the tiny QB could survive being hit.  It was acknowledging he would have to be extremely special to overcome the handicaps he would face at this level.  Which he isn’t and can’t.  which isn’t just being hit.  It’s being able to play in an NFL pocket and make NFL throws from it….and that ultimately is Bryce’s problem.  He doesn’t play well from a NFL pocket and can’t make all the throws as needed.  He can’t see as others can.  Which impacts the throws he does and doesn’t take.  It also impacts him bailing and killing plays and turning them into scrambles/dead plays
    • 9:30 kick off here in Scotland, which is better than the 01:20 early hours of Monday that I feared. Will definitely be watching, but probably wouldn't if it had been 0120 as I need to be up for work at 05:45. Falcons Saints is 6pm on the Sunday so will watch that too if it becomes relevant
