Jordan Love is probably the most intriguing QB to me in this draft. Hit or miss. Most likely miss, but I think for a mid round pick I wouldn't hate it.

If tua hadn't blown out his hip I'd be excited about him, but....

Brown would be ok, but I'm more loving the idea of OT that early. 3 rounds without OL addressed has me queasy.

I know everyone wants Brown...but for a change let's do this and get it right....OLine first.  Without protection any QB we put back there will be a sitting duck.  Dallas took a chance and built their Oline up and even with an undrafted QB named Romo made him look like a 1st round pick.  It is time we bite the bullet and do what is right.

Do you dispute that if a qb is injured, that is potentially a long term issue for the entire franchise, not just that one player, give the central importance of the position, it's scarcity of quality play, and cost of a franchise back?

Do you contend that a bad run D has consequences beyond the immediate season? If so, how?

If the run defense is better, maybe we are not behind 21-0 in the first quarter, forcing our QB to drop back and be exposed 45-50 times per game.  Offense and Defense can compliment each other.

Pick the difference making DT in the first.  The draft is deep for C's.  Grab one in the second and let him play G for a season until he is ready to replace Paradis.

Bad run defense puts you behind early and to a high degree less consistently than bad pass D, so I still see no argument here that is compelling for how bad run D has consequences beyond the immediate season.

Both lines have to be fixed and are awful. I’m not saying you have to take O line at 7 if the best prospects are off the board. But if Thomas and Brown are both still there at 7, however unlikely that may be, I’d say the situation dictates taking Thomas. Center in the 2nd playing guard is fine, but when other teams look at our total offseason this fall, they should be saying “Well they definitely prioritized fixing their o line.”

If teams start copying the model of the 49ers (and to a lesser degree, the Titans) then being a team with a poor run defense is gonna be a major problem.

Willing to worry about that when it happens, as opposed to getting our qb killed, which is a problem now.

...and arguably has been for 3 years already.

You can worry about both at the same time.

Rhule and Brady definitely seem ready to build the O-Line.

What I would LIKE to see, but not what I'm anticipating

1. Derrick Brown (DT) Auburn
2. Kyle Dugger (S) Lenoir Rhyne
3. Literally best guard available

This addresses our most glaring needs and the talent will be there barring Brown going before us, but I just don't anticipate it.

If we draft a QB, we're dumb.

Rd 1. DL Brown

Rd 2. Qb. Jordan Love

Rd  3 S.   Brandon Jones.

I'm not saying I hate it, but I respectfully disagree. Trade down, gain more picks, and draft Epenesa or Kinlaw if Simmons isn't available. If we get him then cool, next ILB for the next 6-10 years. If not, we retool the whole defense and maybe give Christian Miller, Jordan Kunaszyk, and Marquis Haynes a shot. Plus, we can always sign a ILB. But we drafted two OLs last year that we invested in that showed some promise. We need to let Williams walk, resign Van Roten to play alongside Moton, Little, Turner, and Paradis. Plus, we keep Daley on standby. The new guys need to be thoroughly tested, and Daley already showed good promise imo. Look to FA for help also, but defense has too many holes and we need a better and younger run defense. Only position I would consider looking on offense in the top 3-rounds would be center or receiver. Then draft for insurance in the later rounds. There's a reason I'm not in the FO though.

Rd 1.12 - DE - A.J. Epenesa

Rd 1.18 - DL - Javon Kinlaw

Rd 2. 38 - S - Xavier McKinney

Rd 3. 67 - CB - Bryce Hall

Rd 3. 80 - OL - Darryl Williams

Rd 4. 113 - WR - Denzel Mims

I think I'd like this haul. But I know I'm new at this.

    • KB is still a huge "what if" for me. Word from everyone that TC he tore his ACL was that he was the best player on the field and second place wasn't even close, that included opposing fans during our joint practices. What if KB doesn't get hit by the double whammy of tearing his ACL and losing his mom? I think we definitely win SB50. I don't think KB would've been great long-term but I could definitely see him being a David Boston type where he was dominant for a brief period but not for long.
    • You said the team goes limp-dick in the playoffs because RBA won't change. (Note that you did not suggest what changes you think he needs to make). You then stated "Rod will never change anything." I can only infer that the team continues to fall out of the playoffs because RBA doesn't/won't change. Therefore, if RBA will never change anything, the team will fall out of the playoffs. I mean, that is literally the line of logic you posted. So, I'm not sure what you're suggesting, since I don't have a crystal ball.
