Why no talk about trading up to #3 for Tua?

The Burrow talk was a pipedream but a trade up to #3 seems realistic. Detroit is not taking Tua and could be fielding calls for that pick. Miami is not going to trade a lot to only move up 1 spot in the draft. The only completion would be the LA Chargers. Seems like a great chance for Carolina to get their future franchise QB. Tua to me is the best QB in this draft. Nothing against Burrow great QB. But the way the NFL is heading towards these days you need a athletic mobile QB who can throw on the run. Tua has better upside than Burrow the traditional pocket QB.

What would it take to move up to #3 for Tua?

Tua is a risk even if a great thrower. Love is a safer pick as is Herbert and both could be available at #7, but Simmons is the best pick and may still be there.

What in the hell does this have to do with moving up to #3?

Fuuck is u talk'n bout fam?lol

This topic is about the #3 pick not the #7 pick. Of course we take Simmons if we stay at #7. Duh!

He also said nobody is going to be guaranteed to be the starter.  So that is a long long way from "confirmed".

"I don't want to say about anybody that they'll be a starter," Rhule said.

You are correct in that Rhule has been adamant about not naming anyone a starter.  That said, if Cam comes back healthy (I believe he will) who is going to beat him out for the starting QB slot?

I believe the public chatter by Rhule and Tepper in regards to Cam is intended to both change behavior and motivate.

Cam has always been coddled and catered to and he developed a healthy sense of entitlement.  Rhule and Tepper are making it perfectly clear this will no longer be the case, Cam is going to have to earn it.

I believe he will.

What’s to say he doesn’t drop to the 20s or even 2nd round?

hes far from a lock. He’s had major injuries and points to an RG knee or Wentz waiting to happen.

he might be fine but who wants to gamble their top 10 pick on it?

Maybe if he's sitting there in the 3rd, you throw a pick that way. Too much to gamble on that injury... Looks like something the Dolphins or Raiders would do.

You guys are dillusional if you think Tua isnt going in the first round. Sure there is injury history. But look at the up side.

Arm Talent

Throws with anticipation

Throws with touch

Accuracy

Mobility

Reads defenses

Production

If it wasnt for injury he would be the first player taken

Without a doubt. But then, there's that injury and it was a serious one. And that's where the doubt creeps in. It's not about the skills he displayed, but about the durability he might have.

True. We will know more after his pro day.

Honestly, they won't know anything until about halfway through his first season of taking hits, heavy practices and general wear. And there's the rub... it's like buying a used car with almost no miles on it, but one troubling accident on the CarFax. They say it's fixed and it runs good right now, but then a few months later you're on the highway and BLAMMO!

Or maybe you get 10 good years of driving out of it.

Except you are paying new car price for it and cannot get your money (or pick) back.

Just saying why he might not go in the first ... and why he may fall to the place where the risk vs reward balances out better. Like I said, though, there are teams that will always take a gamble. Just like in regular life, there's always someone willing to try that get rich quick scheme and every once in a great while some guy hits it big. But there are a lot of schmucks that get stuck with damaged goods and debt that lasts for years.
