What numbers does Bridgewater have to produce for us not to draft a QB next year??

4500 yards, 40 td and 10 or less to. Deep ball completion % solid to good. Overall completion percentage of 65-70%.

Carolina would still be drafting a QB in 2021 even with the above.

so if Teddy Bridgwater throws 39 TDs and 4400 yards you kick him to the curb.  Tough crowd!

Teddy's upside is unlimited.

He was NFL Rookie of the Year and in his sophomore campaign a Pro Bowl selection.

Between then and now he's spent 2 seasons under the tutelage of 3 of the finest offensive minds in the NFL, one of whom is now Teddy's direct coach.

Like Russell Wilson he cunning and knows how to avoid getting hit, chances are very good the Panthers just signed the QB for the next decade or more (Teddy is only 27).

That is a hypothetical situation..

I'm asking you in the inverse version of that situation.. Where the defense sucks and the team has a bad W-l record due to new coaching, new scheme, and bad defense.. But Teddy and the offense puts up good numbers.. What would those individuals numbers have to be for you to want to build around TB instead of drafting a QB next year??

Fair enough. I’m not sure of an exact statistical cut-off (given probably some garbage time stat padding in that scenario), but a QB shining despite dysfunction elsewhere bodes well for when rest of team shapes up.

I wonder how the fanbase would feel if Cam came back, put up those numbers and the FO still drafted a QB? Ummm not good.

Exactly why Teddy got a three year deal with all the guarantees in the first two seasons and extending Cam wasn't entertained. It's designed for him to be the starter, team drafts QB in 2021 draft. He starts and rookie learns from him and then rookie takes over in 2022 season.
