I read something about it, and it said that the PC version was head and shoulders above the console version. I guess the graphics are just so-so on consoles, but they are really nice on the PC. Plus you have the toolbar like someone else mentioned.

thats cool...how is the dialogue and story with the characters?

All great. You really jump right in to the story and it feels quite epic.

I don't really worry about graphics that much. I'm the kind of guy that will turn everything down at first then maybe come back and tweak it later.

The toolbar is what's essential. I'm only level 8 or so and already have every slot filled. I'd imagine it would be frustrating playing with only 4 abilities quickly accessible.

I bought it on the third. I have only played as a Human Noble Warrior and it's been pretty fun. Just beat Redcliffe last night and I am headed to the mages tower to take care of things there shortly. (After I am done on the Huddle for today)

-It has some free roaming, you just have to wait a while. Even then, there isn't a lot of it. Just check around the cities like you normally would. Instead of guild quest lines they have missions that you can do for different groups. I came across missions for an assassin guild last night, but did not do any. For the main quest, you pick the order that you do things like Mass Effect. It doesn't feel like you are locked down to a path.

-Stone Prisoner DLC comes with all new copies of the game and it's not post-game content. Unlocking Shale early is highly recommended. He has all the dialogue as the others. You can change his defenses by swapping out resistance crystals and he's even got a ranged ability, so he's better than I expected. His story is pretty cool. My group is now Rogue, Morrigan (Shapeshfter with Heal), Alistair (Warrior Templar) and Shale.

There are a lot of complaints about the graphics but I have no problem with them.

Even if the graphics are short of your expectations, however, the storyline is good enough by far to make up for it.

The dialog interaction reminds me of KOTOR. Party members will talk, share opinions, etc.

My party is Myself (warrior), Alistair, Morrigan, and the Dog.

Graphics are over rated. Story and gameplay is all that really matters. Nice graphics are just icing on the cake.

spoiler: Wynne is in the mage tower: the tower is taken over by abominations, you have to go through a lot of crap, I'm still going through it atm. Alistair is my warrior and Leliana is the rogue(bard). I chose not to use Morrigan because she'll generally disagree with the other 2. I think the group I have now will all agree with 'good' decisions. If you want a evil type character then Morrigan would fit right in.

.

When you go to Haven to find the sacred ashes, Sten asks to fight you. After you woop his ass he's falls right in line, I think he even sends you some approval. In mine Sten is a beast and I pair him with Shale and Zenuvan (sp), i'm a mage.

The control system is why the PC version is head and shoulders above the console version. The controls work on the console, but nowhere near as well as they do on the PC.

I've switch out my rogue for Sten now after getting overwelmed so many times. He's really good as long as you keep him pounding on off targets. I was too focused on healing and surviving and neglected damage.

Now I have Alister with some good armor and Sten, Morrigan and myself blasting away. I still haven't found Shale, the best info I get is 'Honnleath is a troubled, darkspawn-infested village in Ferelden'.

-There is some ridiculous heavy armor doing the quest that gets the elves on board. It's tier 6 and requires 38 strength though. I'm gonna get that on Alistair as soon as possible. There is also some sweet rogue armor there as well.

-Natty, you shouldn't struggle finding Shale. If you used the code and enabled the DLC, you'll find his quest listed under "Premium" in your journal. If you purchased Warden's Keep, it'll be in the same place. If you have both, the description mentioning a merchant is the one for Shale. He gives you a free item and sends you in the direction to use it.

-Scratch what I said about free roaming. I was confused thinking I was outside of a town, it was just a zone. You can't literally free roam from city to city like on the map. With that said, it still doesn't feel like a linear game. It's like free roaming of the map with fast travel. Not an issue for me, I'd put this in the same category as the graphic concern.

    • Nothing wrong with starting to look for bodies early. It's a long injury filled season. I doubt we get through unscathed.
    • We're in alignment regarding Thielen not being a game changer/breaker for the Panthers. Getting the ball into hands of playmakers like TMac and XL is going to open up things more than it is getting it to Thielen underneath (or letting him go after 50/50 balls 20yds downfield in his mid-30s). However, in a room where the other guys are two second year guys and two rookies, having a reliable vet that they can learn from is just as important as it is for the QB to have as a reliable third option. I can see that being worth $8.5M (just 3%) of the $279.2M cap... especially when looking at what's left out there: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/_/position/wr However, the idea that the team is forcing production to Thielen and leading to losses isn't supported by the data. Targets, not receiving yards, are how you can tell if a player is being "force fed." In the two games mentioned, let's look at the other players available... vs. TB 10 targets - Adam Thielen 9 targets - David Moore 8 targets - Tommy Tremble, Xavier Legette 3 targets - Jonathon Brooks 1 target - Dan Chisena, Feleipe Franks, Stephen Sullivan vs. PHI 11 targets - Adam Thielen 8 targets - Xavier Legette 5 targets - Chuba Hubbard, David Moore 2 targets - Tommy Tremble 1 target - Ja'Tavion Sanders, Deven Thompkins There isn't exactly a bounty of other names to throw the ball to. In those games, AT was one of the top 2 WRs. Diontae had been gone by that point.   So... yea. Agreed that Thielen isn't exactly carrying the team in his mid-30s, but it's undeniable that he was the most reliable target last season that still has quite a bit of value this season. Whether or not that value is reflected in a manner folks think on the contract is going to come down to personal taste. However, the idea that the team was forcing production to AT and that was the reason behind some losses couldn't be further from the truth.
    • I would also add that I think it's more than money.  AT has looked absolutely miserable out there at times, and there was a lot of speculation he would demand to be traded.  Personally, I thought he was a lock to be moved last year.  Maybe his hamstring is the only thing that prevents that from happening. The fact that he's not only willing to come back and play, but excited about it, really bodes well for Bryce.  AT is a veteran and he knows the game.  If he didn't have confidence in Bryce, I guarantee you he wouldn't be in a Panther uniform this year.  I'll take that as a positive.
