I think we have a chance to win this game outright.

Reasons:

  1. Saints run D is weak at best. They rely on turnovers (Jake and special teams this is you)

  2. We have always played the Saints well. We know them and have been able to keep Brees in check (not including the 2nd half of the last years regular season finale in which prevent was implemented at halftime)

  3. Saints are due for a loss. Does anyone know our record in domes???? Would love to see that.

Cant wait for Sunday.

Our run D might be not be strong again in this game if Clancy and Fujita (Ellis will be out for sure) are out, but we're still ranked 11th in the league. We gave up one long run to Ricky Williams in the Dolphin game (gave up 27 yards on 14 wildcat plays in that game). And yes, Turner gashed us, but I wouldn't call our run D weak. Carolina? They're 24th going against the run vs. the No. 4 rushing attack.

Going into last week the Cardinals had the #1 rushing defense. We did OK I think.

We play much better ageist teams that throw the ball and make big plays then we do ageist teams that dink and dunk and run the ball. Our whole D is set up to stop big plays.

Likewise our Offense is set up to run and use play action to set up big plays.

    • This is perspective and I think Canales’ dad was a shrink. His description of this lack of urgency which we see is ‘cold blooded’. Not excited just surgical.  Also, the 1 of 11 while a smart way to go, is also a pretty big smoke job probably intended to take pressure off of the QB., But which is it? I don’t think we were looking at cold blooded killer last year. Maybe he can kill something, but he is up against a lot. I am going to have to defend him somewhat on the leadership though because it was his first season and his play was not strong enough for him to start putting people on notice or any talk at all. And his voice... and he looks like a kid. It would probably hurt him more than help him in to be rah rah in that situation. Just grind.
    • Yeah man I don't see the big deal. I played football we develop a brotherhood and I was coached to never quit on your teammates no matter how bad the situation is.   I think CMC is a good person. My issue was with him milking injuries because we were in a bad situation. I can never respect that as a competitor especially from my own teammate.   Some people may disagree that's fine.
    • I'm sure he's devastated that you don't like him and think he's soft. I do agree that I've responded to you way too much.
