GM Marty Hurney selected Newton and Kuechly before Dave Gettleman took over for the 2013 through 2017 drafts (and Gettleman was fired after the 2017 draft). The Panthers have consistently drafted stars when picking among the top 10, from Julius Peppers (2002) and Jordan Gross (2003) to the players in the table

Saw a stat recently that DJ was #9 on an all time “total receiving yards for a player under the age of 23” list. I think CMC was 19 or 20 on the same list that was made up of 18 receivers and Gronk. 
 

Random stat but impressive nonetheless to have both of these guys on the roster at the same time.

How hard is it to get a good player when you are constantly picking near the top of the draft though? I mean most of the guys we have drafted are guys regular ass Joes on here say we should draft. It doesn't take a rocket science to pick a great player in the top 15. Then again a lot of teams blow it somehow so idk

DJ might become the best in the league with Brady and a QB not named Allen or Grier

He’s underrated and I don’t think he’s even reached his ceiling. If he develops even a hint of a Steve Smith chip on his shoulder every DB in the league better take notice.

      Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.

      I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.

      Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
