Without knowing how the cap situation is going to play out, his 18-20m contract could seriously hurt the team financially and limit the ability to sign anyone in FA. We are too many missing pieces away right now to do that, even if we could get Adams for a 2nd.

Not saying I disagree with your statement about actually TRADING a 1st for him, but he's absolutely worth one.

I know they aren't  taking a 3rd or a 2nd for him but that would be the most I could see us as a team valuing him. At this point they may get nothing reagarless of him being worth a 1st + because he has already indicated he won't be playing for the Jets at all which I find hilarious. I'm just laughing at the thought of us trading a top pick for a guy who wants up to $20 million a year when we have real needs and issues. The guy is a baller but SS isn't putting us into contention at this point. He isn't a franchise QB or LT so I don't think the value is close to a first let alone a top 5 for us. Hell, we don't even have a good CB on the team this year unless someone develops.
