I was a big fan of Norman, but his one great year doesn't eclipse what Bradberry did over the course of four.

Bradberry never had a great year. His best was his first (and even that was a mirage). Norman's career here was better than Bradberry's.

Bradberry was never going to be hugely celebrated because he's not an INT guy. His hands are trash. What should be celebrated is that usually when he was facing off against the likes of Jones, Evans, and Thomas you didn't hear those guys' names called very often. That's what a CB is supposed to do first and foremost. INTs are icing on the cake.

I heard their names called much more often against Bradberry than Norman. INTs are game changers for a reason, but of course that wasn't all Norman was known for, and that's why he was sought after and got paid big time! Bradberry wasn't on his level.

In 2015, they didnt even throw at Norman after the 5th game.  Thats what a game changing CB does, takes away half the field. Bradberry was a good CB, but not a true #1 CB, this notion that he held other teams best WR down is false. Thompson had 100 on us, Julio had 93, Evans had 96

Bradberry is definitely a legit #1 CB. That's why he got top 5 CB money. Norman just caught lightning in a bottle in 2015 and played out of his mind. He was the best DB in football that season. He just never came close to that level before or since.

Bradberry hit the market at the best time, as there wasn't much talent on the market, and it was Gettleman that paid him. They can boot him without much cap hit after 2021.

    • I still think a Dalton thumb injury screwed us 2 seasons in a row.  It allowed the Bryce Young comeback after whoever finally gave a greenlight on being done w/ him 2 weeks into the season.  and I think we saw a soft benching this year and they wanted to see Andy run it with this crew.  But Andy hurting his thumb killed us from seeing whatever he has at full go in a game.  Bryce Young was never hurt those 2 games to the degree which called him to miss a game IMO.  You don't see QBs sit for such minor things....unless you just want to use it to explore and see.
    • I was quite critical of Ron Rivera's game day coaching decisions and management over his years here. Especially when he coached super conservative playing not to lose. But at the end of the day he never had to try and win with a Bryce Young. John Fox had to try and win with a Bryce Young and he completely checked out and got himself fired. The only. Only solution right now. Is to remove the anchor around our necks from the equation and move forward however we can and assess all the moving parts with the time we have left so we can move forward accordingly in the offseason. Not doing so is only going to further delay evaluating what we have in this young roster and this staff led by Canales.
    • Sometimes GMs try outsmart everyone by picking a player they think has the physical tools and can be coached up but Legette is an example what happens when that doesn't work out. Teams that are already contenders with a full roster can take those chances. The Eagles, for example, could have rolled the dice on a guy like Legette. But the Panthers needed, and still need, to draft guys who are ready to play now in the first round. Legette wasn't that guy and there were much better options available.
