Their defense is improved. They’re top 20 in defense right now. Top 10 in sacks and top 5 in TFL. I don’t think they’ve been this good since Gerald McCoy was there.

Those numbers are great, if they weren't against the Big 12, which is not a good league. West Virginia has the top ranked pass defense in the country playing in that conference. Competition level can improve your stats and make you look better than you are, kind of like Ohio State and their weak schedule making them look good.

I’m not so sure man. They’ve absolutely dominated the past 4 games. If they weren’t dominating, I would agree, but they’re killing teams. Big Ten’s not much better, their offenses are hot ass other than Ohio State. And the one ranked team Ohio State played, they struggled. While OU won 41-13 vs a similarly ranked team.

Last few years OU has skated by and barely beat the same Big 12 teams. That’s why I believe it’s different now.

Dude, look around that conference. It's not good.

I agree about Ohio State, for the same reasons I say about Oklahoma. The Big 12 usually has some decent teams, I just don't see it this year. If they weren’t a power5 school, they may not have another team other than Oklahoma even ranked, and OU would be ranked much lower.

I don’t really care about Georgia’s QB when OU wasn’t playing their first two games without their best defender nor their best RB.

Georgia QB is a big difference, not to mention they played against Florida also missing 3 defensive starters, and lost another early in the game for targeting. Georgia led Alabama at halftime, the offense sputtered, then the defense got tired, and you know the rest. Having Daniels Georgia offense would have had better chance to continue to move tge ball, score and give the defense a break.

I am sure Georgia wishes they could replay both games, just as I am sure Oklahoma would like to replay their losses. Neither team gets that opportunity, and neither 2 loss team is going to the playoffs.

Meh. Duncan opted out as well. I think Georgia is overrated as hell if I’m honest. Beating up on terrible offenses is cool and all, but meh.

Florida had people out due to suspension from the previous game and that targeting call also removed Florida’s best player in Kyle Pitts. The Gators just smacked them in the mouth the rest of the game outright.

Who isn’t overrated outside of Alabama?

Clemson is rightly rated. You guys think OU is overrated because you look at their first two games, when they’ve killed teams recently. I think they’re rightly rated and if they win out and look good, they’ll be rightly rated in the top 6. Iowa State is also rightly rated.

    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
