Scott I believe seahawks did promote 2 to asst GMs a couple years ago(maybe 2017?). It may have been label only and such, but Im about 98% sure they did have 2 asst. I can not spell the the others name, f_______ . Pete did/still has all the powers, that part is right. Im sure its on goggle about when the promotion took place, and I believe they did 2 at the same time.......

The Saints are the team that has two assistant GMs...or did with Jeff Ireland and Terry Fontenot. Now that Fontenot has gone to the Falcons, I don't know if they're going to keep that arrangement.

Fitterer used to be a co-director of player personnel along with former Panthers scout Trent Kirchner, but neither was ever named Assistant GM.

Getting loads of

operated as a co-assistant GM under John Schneider.

I thought I read that he and the other guy were given the label, GM John would say theres no school or book for how to be a GM. Its seems the word for word did not pop up, but operated would not hold up in courts..

This was his bio from the 2020 Seahawks Media Guide.

Scott Fitterer begins his sixth season as co-director of player personnel.

Originally joining the Seahawks’ staff on June 25, 2001, as an area scout, he recently served 2011-14 as the club’s director of college scouting. In his current role, Fitterer works collaboratively with Trent Kirchner in directing both the college scouting and pro personnel departments to manage and strengthen all aspects of the Seahawks roster.

As the director of college scouting he coordinated the Seahawks’ entire scouting operation and compiled all of the college scouting information required to set the draft board. He is responsible for the evaluation of all draft eligible players nationally, oversight of the Seahawks college scouting staff and works closely with GM John Schneider and the Seahawks coaching staff regarding the NFL Draft and college free agency.

Before joining Seattle, spent three seasons with the New York Giants, 1998-00, as a part-time scout before being assigned to the West Coast region for the 2000 season. Was a 1995 draft pick of the Toronto Blue Jays and spent three years in the Blue Jays system (1995-97) before his career ended due to three shoulder surgeries. Was a two-sport athlete in college, playing quarterback in football and pitcher in baseball at UCLA (1992-94) and LSU (1994-95).

In 1998, Fitterer returned to UCLA to earn his undergraduate degree in history. Born in Seattle, he is a graduate of Kennedy High School in Seattle. Scott, his wife Cherish, daughter Ella, and son Cole live in Sammamish, Wash.

Before he left, hey gave him a new title (VP of Football Operations) but neither he nor Kirchner were ever named Assistant GM.

    • Idk man, I think it’s necessary.  There’s people working 9-5s everyday that get told poo about what they aren’t and what they’re not capable of and they’re working for scraps.  These guys are making millions.  People are watching and invested because their team and fandom is a part of their identity and a big source of pride.  When someone like Bryce comes in and is given chance after chance after chance after proving he is not worthy of the position he’s being gifted, and he continues to be the biggest reason above any that we are losing, yeah…  I think it’s fair to call a spade a spade.  Am I saying Bryce the person is trash?  Bryce the person is a piece of poo?  Absolutely not.     I came up in an era, especially in basketball, where if you were fuging up people heckled the poo out of you.  I played in rec leagues as a teen where the fuging parents were calling kids trash and yelling poo like “TURNOVER!!!  TURNOVER!!!”  “CANT DRIBBLE!”  “CANT SHOOT!”  And that’s adults screaming that poo to kids like we were in the fuging Rucker lol.🤣🤣🤣  I went on to play basketball at a collegiate level and with professional players in different settings.  What those experiences as a kid taught me was to see if there is any merit to what people are saying, and if there is, then work my ass off til they can’t say that anymore.  Come back better, tougher, harder.  And I did.  If kids can figure that poo out, an adult calling another adult who is bad at his job while making millions and millions of dollars will be just fine.
    • I have tried to like this team, lord knows I have tried. BY9 is a nice young man, if I had a daughter he can take her to prom, but he ain't QB1 and he's not Cam or Delhomme Chuba is a average RB, he isn't Stephen Davis, he isn't J-Stew McMillan has the makings of a good WR, but he isn't 89/Moose D. Brown is a great player, but if the game was on the line I want Kris Jenkins       I miss this brand of football, even in the bad Jake games the games were entertaining It has been nearly 8 years now of watching numb football
    • I'm not so sure. Something about the whole Frank/Bryce situation seemed off from day 1. Bryce didn't fit Frank's QB mold as well as Stroud, then he basically gives up when Bryce is named starter in preseason but gets virtually no reps in games. Then he looks completely unprepared and Dalton steps in in Seattle, has a decent game under immense pressure, and it's right back to Bryce. All his mechanics are terrible and he's having the worst rookie season ever and Frank doesn't bench him?  You dont have to be a conspiracy theorist to know Bryce wasn't ready to be a day 1 starter. Everything with Bryce, then coaches, and the FO seemed forced.
