Im petty big on YGM, maybe more than anyone on the huddle(guy just needs to grow up). The first three picks are looking great and dont need any more fluff.  This is mainly to show what happens in one year when you feel the 2021 class has 5-9 starters/great role players.

Start with 4th rounder Pride. No matter who/what/when a team uses a early pick at your position, you are on notice. Not only that they signed 2 vets and added another mid-5th round pick. Pride is on the bubble.

5th- Krob. Wavied at final cuts and re-signed to the PS. Spent a few weeks and finally got the call up to the bigs. Even now hes still fighting for a 53 spot. Bubble as well, even at what most think is a "thin" group.

6th- Roy..what a difference in one year. He was starting late season, now like Pride Panthers added able bodies to the group in vets and draft picks. If Hoskins shows out, Roy could be cut as well... on the " "

7th- STO <cut paste the pride foot notes>

There you have it, just 1 year later only 3 have solid footing on this team. The remaining 4 are Bubble guys with hard fights to make this team. Need to look at the 2019, 2018 drafts as well......not much left but Hernaiys 1st rounder in each. I do really like the 2021 class and if I take off my chains, feel its got a good shot at being the best in panthers history.

I still say Hurney had little say in that draft.  It was too good and too close to what I actually wanted of  which NEVER had happen before.

There were reports of Rhule wanting to trade down form the 1st, now seeing friessser breaking the team trade record, that could be one of the reasons for no more herniay. Friesser loves groups while old school GM like Gman and Herniay love a player.

I hate to go madden or fantasy guy.....I luck out and learned that sometimes your 2nd or 3rd want is better than your 1st want. Early on I got locked in on certain players and was in the dumps if I didnt land them, turned out my next in line had the much better season. Another light started to work up stairs. Should have done the 2021 draft in 2020 given the holes on the roster.

Yeah however we were able to roll with BPA this draft which usually means more value for your dollar. Also Fitts was helping with this draft. Fitts first year helping Seattle in 2011 they got KJ Wright in the 4th, Sherman in the 5th, and Byron Maxwell in the 6th, not to mention Doug Baldwin as an undrafted rookie. That was his first year as Director of College Scouting. The man knows how to find late rounds value picks. The very next year he helped get Wagner in the second and Russ Wilson in the third. Not bad at all!
