Brown among top rookies

Don't look now, but Brown has 11 tackles, one sack, and a pair of forced fumbles. That may not seem like much, but only two defensive linemen from his rookie class are doing better. Michael Johnson has 13 tackles and a sack for the Bengals, and Roy Miller has 21 tackles and two sacks for the Bucs. Neither have the competition for playing time that Brown does either.

Ever stop to think that maybe Hurney knows what he's doing? :)

Agree..

Roy Miller before today had 255 snaps

Michael Johnson had 180

Brown had 141

But Orakpo play at the line on some snaps but other than that i agree I think Brown have played very well and with Peppers broken hand he might see a little more work now.

Yeah, Everette Brown > Top 10 pick in a deep draft in which we kind of need a QB. Good going Hurney.

Top 10 pick?? Eventhough there are not any QB´s worth the top 10 IMO. And sure it is a deep draft but that is a good thing when you dont have any first round pick.

If it was a shitty draft then we were in more trouble.

No...

At the least, it's too early to judge him at this point. Remember how many thought Mario Williams was a foolish choice over Bush and that was true...for their respective rookie seasons.

    • It’s summer league, so take it with a grain of salt. But have to admit the team has played really well and been fun to watch. Agreed, take what we can get.
    • There are a very few number of legitimate NFL level QB's on this planet. I'm not saying he is not capable of being a backup still given that very limited number. All I'm saying is some people can choose to look at the reality glass half full or glass half empty. I'm relatively trying to remain near the middle. I do appreciate that he has experience with which he can pass on to Bryce. But I think his resume is being put on a level that does not line up. It's interesting you mentioned Flacco. I'd take him mentoring the Panthers starting QB in a heartbeat. At least Joe has won in the playoffs. And won a Super Bowl to boot. He might have only had success largely in that season but man what a run he led that offense on. I can respect that. I'm not saying I don't like or respect Andy. I do like him. And he's a ginger. But as a local fan who has seen losing losing losing mediocrity and a few very short lived seasons of potential greatness. Give me any ounce of greatness every time. Then we can hang our hat on mentoring at some level. That's my position and all I'm trying to convey. Thanks for the chat.
