In truth, the NFL's plans and rules dealing with Covid are basically wishful thinking. Right now, everyone wants to make every effort to keep working that it's all going to be business as usual, full slate of games, fans in attendance, no make-up games.

If you look at the spread going on now, and realize that there are other variants lining up behind Delta and will emerge, then we're going to have to be prepared for a season like last year, even with the vaccinations.

No one wants it, but conditions are that we're just trying to hold another shut down at bay for as long as we can. Come November, December, it's going to get bad.

It seems every September it starts ramping up then by December its raging. Some states will be in full lock down by January. I doubt places like Florida will ever lock down again. Until the world is fully vaccinated we will always be fighting a new variation of covid. I wouldn't be surprised if 6 or 7 boosters will be needed to get through this.

Honestly, we're in 1919 a year past the big flu outbreak trying to learn how to deal with what is going to be a long run of the disease (really, every flu outbreak since then is just a variant). Except this is more deadly than the flu. Covid is going to be with us for a long time and we're going to have to wrestle with it mightily before we can get it contained, not controlled, like we have flu today.

We're getting better at dealing with Covid every day, from therapies to vaccines to care initiatives and preventative measures, but we haven't hit exactly what will get us to a workable coping methodology yet. We're going to lose even more dearly loved people and we're going to have to make sacrifices but some day this will be no more than the flu is now.

Well its early. I mean once developing nations start getting vaccinated and the weirdo holdouts see it won't turn you into zombies we probably won't have to deal with it again like the Spanish flu. Influenza A,B,and C are harder to deal with than sars because they have multiple mutations and we just guess on the vaccines. Covid is pretty rare and thankfully that's a good thing. Unfortunately until we get 90% of the world vaxxed we will deal with booster shots.

Rare is getting more common every day.

But really, let's enjoy the football for as long as we can this season. I may well be wrong and we get crowds in the stands through the Super Bowl. I sure hope so. We need it.

    • Well bois, we gave the Devils their due! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... The jersey boys have been trying to jack our steeze for a few years now. They've followed our blueprints and studied our tape. Every offseason, they pounce on our sloppy seconds in a Newark minute. Quick with the puck, ferocious on the forecheck and stifling team defense. Down to the colors, this is this closest we'll come to having to play ourselves in Ole Stanley's Hockey Hoedown. As the postseason began, Rod stood flexing in the gym mirror and saw this guy staring back from the void... (Shutters) When beating us at our game didn't work, Timo and the Tri-State Trash tried to tango instead. Outside of a bitchass cheapshot on Freddie, that poo didn't work either. Their goon squad was getting wrecked by our bantam weights. As much as we all wanted to see Svechy or Staal Bunyan literally break someone in half after the Great Dane went down, they didnt need to. Our munchkins were monsters! Jarvis obliterating giants at the blue line, Logan laying the Stank on dudes twice his size and Blakers blasting Timo into next season. It was beautiful to see! (Side note: Does JBlo wear lead weights under his pads? 170lbs shouldn't be able to hit that hard!) We closed it out in 5, for the gentleman's sweep. Only team in the league to win a series in each of the past 7(?) seasons! And, this was supposed to be a rebuilding year... Onto the awards: Key To The Series : 6 for 19 - .316% IT FINALLY WORKED!!! MVP : 16/180 g/s - .911 save% - 2.53 gaa Seriously, without this dude, we would've won in 3! (Trust me bro) 3rd Star : 6/94 g/s - .936 save % - 1.59 gaa The Great Dane   2nd Star : 3 g - 5 a - +1 - 20:38 toi/g - 18 hits - 3 bs - 58.1% fo 3 PP goals and the 2OT series winning goal! WOOAAAHHH NELLY!!!!   And, your 1st Star of the series : 5 g - 1 a - +3 - 16:48 toi/g - 16 hits - 1 bs - 1 tk - 50% fo Zero, I repeat, zero penalty minutes for the series! MISSSTAAAHHH SVEEECHNIKOOOV!!!!!! Onto The Next: Now, we wait for the Habs to make it a nasty 7 game slog, while we recuperate. And, hopefully, get Nikishin, and some of the other black aces some real peactice time. We are gonna need those guys at some point. Because, if you think the Devils were dirty, hoooo boy, wait till you see what's next...
    • I don’t watch college football anymore (used to be Stanford STH but meh), but my wife is Hawaiian and her favorite color is purple, so I guess I knew Tet was my new favorite player to root for when he came out in a purple suit and lei and threw up the Shaka.
    • AJ Green is who I think of as well; the body control, fluidity of movement, hands catcher, always high pointing the ball with the occasional insane/acrobatic type of grab, etc
