I posted about the Run Defense earlier:

Was fun to also see this:

In the comments on that tweet, some folks were saying "well, it's because teams abandon the run against Carolina, there haven't been very many rushing attempts"  (Quite true: Average rushing attempts by Panthers' opponents is 17/game, 3rd lowest in the league).

But.... THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT! STOP THE RUN AND MAKE TEAMS ONE DIMENSIONAL!!!  So whether it's 10 attempts or 30 attempts who cares?!, the Panthers ARE shutting down the run and the pass rush is feasting!

Panthers offense in the 2nd half was so efficient.  Had 1 TD drive (9 or 10 plays?) in which they never faced 1st down, and they did a pretty great job of staying ahead of the chains the whole half.  TMJ and Dan Arnold did have 2 clutch 3rd & long conversions though when they were needed.

Reminder: These were all after the CMC injury. Excellent production even with our best player out.

    • I agree but he honestly has gotten better about this. Used to be he’d do it like 4-5 times a game, now it’s like 2-3. Overall I’m incredibly happy with his game, his D has been solid and when he is playing his role he’s a solid scorer and one of the few guys who can consistently finish at the rim and provide that threat. Plus he’s electric and LaMelo loves him. Going into the season I was sure he would just be a stop gap here but now I’m reconsidering and could see him continue to be a “core” piece here. Obviously not on the level of the other starters but he is an important cog for this team. We felt his missed presence during his and Moose’s suspensions.
    • Philly will be a bigger challenge than the Knicks were IMO. George and Embiid are back, not sure about Maxey but Embiid alone is a nightmare matchup for us and Moose. We’ve never really done well against him. Celtics added Tatum but honestly not sure they’re all that much better with him right now than they were when we whooped them a few weeks ago. We should be able to at the very least split these 2, hopefully take both.
