Ok. Everyone keeps making it seem like the Dolphins invented this. Everything i read is about how they run it and people are copying it. Did we not start this trend that year we played ATL, when Weinke was our QB, and we didn't want him to throw, so we just did the direct snap? I can't fully remember because i do like to have a drink and things blend together at times, but why aren't we getting the credit for this? Thats what we were running right?

brilliant! you should write a book, seriously

Yeah, I was really just asking because i don't remember anyone else doing it like we did. I really wanted to know who started it. No need to be a dick. I like how everyone came in with good honest answers and all you did was troll. Stay in Philly it suits you.

This formation is a version of the wing-T which was the predominant formation in the NFL about 60 years ago... the Dolphins just commit to it, doesn't mean they invented it. Most teams will run it every now and then to throw the defense off. The wildcat is part of the Dolphins base offense and that's why we run it the best in the NFL.

It will be harder now that Ronnie is out, but Ricky has been pretty successful with it too.

    • Kalkbrenner and Sion James received regular contracts and not two ways, so the Hornets have some work to do to cut the roster size down.
    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
