you and I know Sam has never been a running QB, but he is a mobile QB who appears to be taking what the defense  is giving him….and for the last four games, those defenses have given him open lanes to run in TDs.   He looks to me like he’s gliding them in, not bulldozing his way in.

 

I hadn't realized this until you brought it up, but most of his TDs have pretty much been of the walk-in untouched variety. The kid has impressed.

Tannehill has proven he can quarterback in this league. Sam is trying to prove it and he's got a good start. Right now, I'd pick Tannehill but that could change

He also doesn’t have the arm talent for Rodgers to be his ceiling. Darnold has a gear arm, but Rodgers is just on another level. 

We'll see.  Lets revisit this at the end of the season.

Some ints are smarter than others.  There are strategies for a 4th down int.  If I'm qb and time is short, I'm giving up the ball at the line of scrimmage  on incomplete anyway.   If I launch deep and the cb is stupid enough to catch and not knock down the ball and we tackle him, its worse field position.  If I throw a short one, it might be better for the cb to int and try to pick 6.  Depends on the line of scrimmage, and location of the int.

Sam, with a weaker OL in most stats, has a higher passer rating, qbr and yards, and he hasn't lost to the Jags. 

And Sam is our QB. 

So I choose Sam.

I'm sorry, but there is never a good reason to Intercept a 4th down pass. You get the ball at the line of scrimmage. It is never a good idea to put your team 10, 20 or more yards past the LOS.

 

You cannot guarantee a Pick 6. Just knock the pass down, and get off the field. I learned that in the backyard at what, 10 years old. When a teenager comes up and knocks you on your azz for it. You learn to not do it.
