I'm actually surprised our yac/comp is higher this year. Didn't expect that because I thought Teddy has been doing a better job of getting the ball to receivers in places they could make plays than Sam has been.

7.6% is an atrocious drop percentage, but even worse is how many of those are from Chubba and Robby 😞

19.8% Bad Throw percentage is atrocious too. So is the 27.9% pressure percentage.

Yuck.

Those are drive killers they put us behind the chains leading to holding calls or pressure

In what realm is Sam doing better. Teddy was pressured 7% less probably due to being able to diagnose defenses better and get rid of the ball.

Also would like to see the turnover ratio.

He's actually trying to push the ball downfield but line can't block and recievers can't catch.

That's what the stats say

The two are related imo.  At the start of the year, Darnolds bad throw percentage was much lower I think.  I think it was something like 15% thru his first 4 games.  But the pressure built, defenses learned how to cover our guys (I mean we had teams in back to back weeks commenting they knew our damn routes), Darnold became Bad Sam again, and yeah.

One thing to note is Darnold is significantly more productive on the ground than Teddy was. In fact, if we are going to grow at all as an offense it'll be more smart usage of his legs IMO.

Interesting our yards/comp is higher this year despite Darnold... I didn't expect that. Barely (8.2 vs 8.7) but still.

    • -Rico is our early season MVP. Stud. -Bryce Young - best game as a pro. See the other threads, very happy with how he played. The first McMillan TD was a good example of what type of rhythm and feel we should see. -Cade Mays had an absolute mother of a game. Absolutely bullied the Cowboys interior. I am getting convinced he’s a potential answer at center. Want to keep seeing it. -Icky & Lewis road grading on the left was top tier today. They’re getting it done the past two weeks. -BC in our stretch zone looks. We finally started diversifying the run game. Looked like we had Brady moving quickly to the perimeter on stretches and tosses. He swung out and killed some Dallas secondary. -Trevin Wallace got himself in position and helped close a few Dallas possessions. Doesn’t go unnoticed. -Mitchell Evans - loving what I’m seeing -Jimmy Horn Jr making noise. He looks NFL quick, not just college quick. -Coaching staff - they’ve have questionable moments this season but this was a really nice, complete game they called. I probably missed some, feel free to chime in
    • I agree but also the teams we lost to are 10-6 combined. So I think we are middle of the pack a little lower. But atleast we are .500 percent. I think the difference is that we are stopping the run and running the ball and not turning it over all the time. So I believe there is some optimism due to Ricos play and that allows us to throw the ball. Big ups to the Oline though. They have done great.
