Panthers talking like a team that has thrown in the towel

I think they have come to accept the fact that it doesn't matter how good they run the ball or play in the secondary, when you have a broken-down QB, a front 7 on defense that can't tackle and a coach that can't make adjustments you're not going to win games - bottom line.

It starts and ends with Jake. If we had a good QB, this would be a good team - we're basically the Colts without Manning. It doesn't matter how much we can run the ball, at a certain point it comes down to QB play and we've got one of the worst starting QB's in the league at this point.

Kinda hard to stay motivated under those conditions, huh.

No surprise here one bit. And I will be very surprise if Jerry does not fire Fox at the end of the season. If he does not fire him then we are in for another bad season next year.

No need to Fire Fox he contract is up after this season. Thank Hurney for that.....

I hate to see an apathetic Steve Smith.

When Steve Smith loses faith in a team there is something major wrong. He give his all every game.....

Can you blame them? My guess is that they're as tired of playing limp d*ck football as we are of watching it.

For sure.... Peppers Play was not cause of John Fox but because of Beason his friend. Someone needs to slip him a Viagra or two before a game or something.

The fact that he thinks smith and williams has given up. Leads me to believe this article is kind of BS. Offensviely we did well in alot of areas. We just didnt' captailise when we needed to.

If I am Williams (averaging 9.5ypc) and they take me out of the game and throw 44 times

I WOULD BE PISSED TOO

Fox looked like a beaten man in the press conference after the game last night. He was talking a good talk, for Fox anyway, but you could tell that even he doesn't believe his own BS anymore.

PS. Carolina14(TWC) could show the press conference, but not the damn game!! greedy asshats!!

I got the same feeling, just waiting for this fugging press conference to be over....along with the season.

You sound like John Fox. Think the season is still salvagable?

When has/did smith given up? All I got from those quotes is he thinks the team did well, but it wasnt enough. Where assuming so much, in so few words.

Most people here probably haven't even read the article. They just assume that Reed is right, and then they pile on. This happens over and over here.

I'm not convinced that they have given up on anything either. Shoot, everybody knew that they were probably gonna lose at least one more game anyway, so it's actually kind of good that they lost to an AFC team. They have a lot to work on, but this season is still not over yet.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
