Will Dwayne Jarret ever..

Yeah, it's Jakes fault that Jarrett can't get open. Jake tried to throw it to Jarrett at least 3 times last night but Jarrett had a defender in his hip pocket every time. He gets no seperation unless the defender slips or something.

BTW, did anybody notice that the Dolphins had two players that made great catches last night? We have Steve Smith, and that's it. Nobody else on the Panthers roster is helping out the QB. In fact, there were at least two drops last night that Jake put right in Moose, and Kings hands. It's not all Jakes fault people.

.....so that VOLLEY BALL that Jake Threw over the middle while we were driving....?? Overthrows in the RedZone??...Its not all his fault..its more like 95.5%..

you can flip that line any way you want...is it Jake's fault Smitty can't get open......how many picks are to Smitty not open. The defender was all over those comeback routes to Jarrett.....that isn't a matter of getting open but a defender knowing what you are doing.

almost all of Jarrett plays where he is open is going across the middle on slants and crosses beating his man.

What does that have to do with Jarrett? Steve Smith caught passes, Rosario caught passes, Moose caught passes, Barnidge caught passes, and D. Will caught passes. I'm probably leaving somebody out, but the common theme is that Jarrett had done nothing at all, and that has very little to do with Delhomme's occasional bad throws.

To me, the guy looks slow - on that sideline route last night Jarrett didn't even fight to keep the DB from getting the pick, he just ran his route like a robot and watched the DB jump it... that may get it done in the NCAA but it doesn't get it done in the NFL. If you're gonna be slow, then you gotta be smart and tough and fight for every ball thrown you're way.

Why in the hell do you guys keep defending Jarrett by pointing out passes to other receivers? None of that has a damn thing to do with whether Jarrett can get open or not.

And yes...Jake made enough throws to win that game if Davidson lets them run the ball in the red zone and if the defense and ST's wouldn't have sucked so bad. I don't know if it's the loss of TD or what, but that looked like a completely different defense that I saw two weeks ago. To blame that entire game on the QB is ludicrous.

Jarrett has gotten open in every game he has been given a chance in....except last night. That is fact on film and even backed up by Fox after the AZ game.....that they have rarely called his number and when they do he delievers. They only threw to him on those bad comeback routes......and he simply isn't good enough at those yet. Jarrett runs the deep and over the middle stuff better than Moose. Moose can run a dig/comeback MUCH better than Jarrett can.....

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
