Teddy ran the wrong play

But I am sure it was not his fault

There was definitely some miscommunication there between Teddy making the call and executing the play,” the Broncos head coach said. “Teddy gets under center a lot before he moves back to the gun. And then when it became obvious that he wasn’t going to do that, you know, it was kind of too late for me to run down there and call the timeout. That’s what happened.”

So the veteran quarterback ran the wrong play. He was under center when he was supposed to be in shotgun. And no one thought to call a timeout.

Not the head coach. Not the offensive coordinator. Not a player on the field. No one.

It’s almost difficult to believe that this could happen on an NFL team. On the 20th play of a drive, facing a fourth down that would likely make or break the night, the Broncos couldn’t execute correctly. And no one was paying attention close enough to prevent it from happening.

Shame on Teddy Bridgewater for not running the play correctly. Shame on Pat Shurmur for not getting the call in correctly. Shame on Vic Fangio for not being alert enough to call a timeout. And shame on the 11 players on the field for not recognizing the confusion.

    • I wonder if the Hornets view Kon and McNeeley more as forwards and plan to ship off Green/Okogie/Smith for center help. I hope they don’t plan to ship off Sexton as I like what he brings to the team. (2) G - Ball, Mann, Simpson (two-way) (3) G - Sexton, Dinwiddie, Connaughton (3) F - Miller, Knueppel, McNeeley, James (two-way) (3) F - Bridges, Williams, Salaun (3) C - Diabate, Kalkbrenner, Plumlee
    • 3 main reasons he was better in 2023 and none of them concern me for his NFL prospects 1. Totally new coaching staff that was a massive downgrade and had god awful play calling and designs, the entire fan base was ready to run the coaching staff out of town a month into their first season and the play caller ended up getting changed because it was so bad. 2. Along with the staff downgrade, his QB played significantly worse after being the Pac 12 Freshman of the Year in 2023.  Constantly missed T-Mac when he was wide open, lost out on a number of TDs and a good amount of yardage, half the time T-Mac still almost made miraculous catches on the bad passes too. 3. He hurt his ankle over the summer and missed all of fall camp only to return to practice a few days before the season started and I think he had to deal with it all season long and was slightly limping at times mid season too, but kept fighting through it to still be a 1st team All American.
    • Good luck to Burns. He’s fine as a third pairing defensemen but Rod is too stubborn to do that.
