You absolutely can go wrong at qb.  Overdrafting one for the sake of drafting one and he busts which the odds favor will set this team back years

Build the line and let the next regime get the qb.

No rookie qb is going to succeed behind that line next year.

not having a QB sets your team back more than anything.

Team A and B are both bad and neither have a QB.

Team A uses a 1st round pick on a QB for three straight years and goes 1/3 in finding a pro bowl QB.

Team B uses a 1st round pick on a non QB for three straight years and goes 3/3 in finding pro bowl non QBs.

Team A is in better shape and it's not even close.

This idea of fixing the line and finding the QB next year sounds good in theory but there are no guarantees.

What if we fix the line and go 10-7 or 9-8,  there might not be a better QB prospect next year where we are picking compared to this year in the top 10.

I'm not saying force a QB pick this year, I just think you have to do honest evaluations and you can't plan multiple years out when you are going to find your QB.  If you like one and think he has a realistic chance of being good, you take him.

    • Yup. Hopefully  Brandon adds some muscle this off-season but he'll probably be resting his shoulder for a while so I doubt it. Miles should probably be replaced but I don't think we find a better 4th option to be honest. So is it better to add depth along side williams and Coby or try to upgrade the 4/5 . I think adding depth will probably be more beneficial than trying to upgrade starters and bank on Brandon and Kons continuing development. I really don't think they are going to make the playoffs unfortunately. I think the big hole they put themselves in has exhausted them. They've been amazing since January 1 but I think it's come at a cost and their legs are gone.
    • The issue is the predictability of it all in a Bryce Young led offense. In 4th down attempts the Jets were at 41 and we were at 40. And we were 4th in conversation %. We were 25th in the league in 3rd down conversion because we faced so many 3rd and longs in part due to playcalling on 1st and 2nd down but more largely due to the limitations that cannot be overcome.  And people want us to spend another 1st rounder on WR as if it is going to magically give Bryce physical talent he will never possess. It's a shame we cut off our own nose just to put ourselves in this frustrating predicament.
