Called it. Should not have pulled the goalie with the third line on the ice. That was some dumb poo. Not that I think less of our players. But the third line is not conducive to pulling the goalie. Should have been the first line.

Would not have pulled Raanta the first time, let alone after. I think they had a better chance at tying 5 on 5.

Not with the third line out, they always play deep. There is just too much Margin for error there. I would have waited a minute until we could have gotten TT and Aho on the ice. That one was on Rod. At least he owns his losses.

Let’s be real though guys, the league fuged us today. 20 hours between games?  Get rested  and beat the poo out of the leafs on Thursday.

Yes sir. The Pens don't play until tomorrow (Tuesday night). There's no reason the Canes needed to be scheduled to start a game 20 hours from the time they left the ice. They could have easily scheduled the game for last night and pushed it out to 28 hours or so.

Don't blame the Canes, nor Raanta for that L. Hard to beat a team 3 times in a row in the Playoffs, much less in the Regular Season. Plus, the short layoff damn sure didn't help.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
