Holiday Special! Your Favorite Carolina Panther Gifts?

Boston

Recommended Posts

Hey guys! I'm still new here and don't really have a voice yet, BUT in light of the Christmas Spirit (and in light of trying to sneak away from all the relatives to visit my other family) I figured I'd post a lighthearted thread and hear from my comrades.

So here's the question:

As a die-hard Panthers fan, (or the one Bucs / Saints fan we got around here) there's nothing better than unwrapping a gift from a friend/family member and seeing your team's trademark colors. So after 13 years, what gift(s) do you remember opening that brought a big smile to your face?

My list has three particular items that meant more to me than the others.

1) My very first Panthers jersey. When I unwrapped the box, opened it, and saw #90 in our alternate Blues, I was ecstatic. Growing up in the heart of Boston, and being able to represent my team regardless of the die hard Patriots fans around me, that was special. It just so happened the Panthers met New England in the Superbowl a month later, and man was I proud to wear that thing.

2) The 2007 Official Sideline Hoodie (That's the Cowboys one, the one I got was obviously Carolina). I had seen all the players wearing that Hoodie on the sidelines everywhere. I loved the look of it, and when my girl bought it for me, I loved it. By far my favorite Reebok team hoodie. Warm as hell, but still very light.

3) Carolina Panthers Christmas Stocking It's kind of a goofy thing to cherish, but some years back my late Grandmother bought me a Panthers Christmas Stocking. It's all black, with "Carolina Panthers" in our Carolina Blue font, with our logo in the middle and a blue hanger-loop. I think the reason I love it the most is the fact that when you walk in to our house, and you see Christmas Stockings on the mantle, and you see (Red/White -> Red/White -> Red/White -> CAROLINA PANTHERS -> Red/White -> Red/White) you know a true fan lives there!

Those are some of my favorite holiday gifts, now I wanna hear from all of you :D

Merry Christmas from Boston!

My husband bought me a Panthers Miller Lite Neon Sign one year - it's among my favorite panthers things. I still want to find the Budweiser one with the running football player that says Carolina.

The Miller sign is in my dormer window right now as we speak. It's part of my playoff decorations - most of which I'm waiting until the Christmas decorations to come down before I put them up.

I've recieved lots of Panther goodies over the past few Christmas'.......mainly shirts, hoodies, hats, coffee mugs, etc. but a girl I used to date bought me a pool stick with the Panther head screen-printed at the top and a Panther Q-ball....I thought that was different :)

Panthers pool stick actually sounds like an awesome item bro, thanks for the idea. I turned 21 a week or so ago, so I've been sharking at the local bars. Having my own stick and not having to use a warped, dirty bar stick would be awesome.

Carrying around a Carolina Panthers pool-stick in the middle of a Boston Bar filled with rabid Patriots fans could prove fatal though.. haha.

I got my husband a signed Peppers jersey for our anniversary one year, it is framed and hanging in our exercise room.

For Christmas his mom bought him an inaugaral (sp?) coat the first year of their existence (still hanging in our closet) and his sister bought him a Collins jersey, he was super excited to get those. He also got Panthers pool balls one year from me, we've since sold the pool table but kept the Panthers balls.

We can't find Panthers stuff around here, it's all Redskins! So he never buys me anything Panthers because he won't order off the internet. His sister that lives in NC did buy us both Panthers pajamas last year, that was cool!

I get something new every year. Ths year my panther stuff included a banner, a logo dress shirt, a micro fiber blanket and ear muffs. Hard to pick favorites. My framed black suede superbowl jacket would have to close to the top. Sure would like to be given a Panther gift from this superbowl. Something from the winners colection!!

    • I guess so. Don't think I was involved with previous discussions.  Tepper is one of the newest owners in the NFL. Dan is going into his 3rd season as a GM - ever. Dave is going into his 3rd season as a HC - ever. Before becoming a HC, he was an OC/playcaller for one season total. Idzik is about to go into his 1st year as a play caller - ever. WRs are rookies, sophomores and 3rd year guys - though the experienced 3rd year guys are XL and Coker (who has missed a ton of games). TEs are guys going into their 2nd and 3rd seasons, and Tommy Tremble - though Sanders has missed a ton of games. QB has played 3 years. Chuba is an experienced RB, but Brooks and Etienne have taken very little snaps at the position. O-line is more experienced vets with some talent - which is HUGE. Need them to stay healthy. I mean the offense is very young in every aspect except O-line. You see it differently?
    • I said this ALL last season and will say it again this year. Our record means diddly squat this year, I don't care if we have 0 wins or 17 wins, I only care about one thing and one thing only. Bryce proves without a shadow of a doubt that he IS or ISN'T our long term solution at QB. It's the only thing that matters for the same reason it sucks that this is the same thing as last year.  This needs to be determined, and if they can't determine it, then it's still telling the team the answer, just not the one they want to hear. As right now we're in the ultimate QB purgatory, a position that dooms franchises for years.  Just look at a team like the Cardinals, who extended a better QB and it still screwed them over and haven't had a contending team in a long time. People get too caught up on wins and losses when evaluating players, particularly QBs.  When people look at the final record and use that as a reason to want to extend a QB or not is just a fools errand.  If we had lost 2-3 more games last year because we didn't make a last second FG, I genuinely wonder if we would have just moved on from Bryce this offseason (like we should have been doing anyways IMHO).
