The Cup winner this season will be one of the following guarenteed, St. Louis, Carolina or Tampa.

 

The rest haven't really show any true playoff tenacity against quality competition.

This is why I love our Canes, Calgary has gone completely outside their system to score and this is what you get..... Edmonton  an score but have holes all over their roster.

 

It's funny that all of the Canadian teams who made the playoffs were always all offense or one that stopped playing system hockey to run up a score.

It’s fun… but you can never make the NHL into a score fest. Then it’s just boring in the playoffs. Hockey in the playoffs should be 0-0, 1-1 2-2.

To anyone complaining about our game last night go back and watch the Lightnings games during the past two years they won two cups playing 2-1, 3-2 and 1-0 games that's the reality of the NHL playoffs.... Teams that have lots of guys with tons of points and goals are rush based offensive teams.... They almost never succeed in the playoffs.

Eh....IDC about the amount of goals scored, just if the games are good. I also don't want to see any good Hurricanes games. I will take as many comfortable 3+ goal victories as possible.

If the Hurricanes can break through the Lighting this year I think they may be able to get a two Stanley Cups over the next five years.... Learning to win in the NHL playoffs is no joke.

Issue with Florida is they aren’t getting any depth scoring right now, they are a one line team.

The only line that is producing is Verhaeghe - Barkov - Giroux.

Additionally, they only have four guys with five plus points in the postseason (the lowest total out of the remaining playoff teams). Essentially, if you shut down the line above and don’t let Ekblad get shots from the point then you don’t have much to worry about.

Guys like Huberdeau, Reinhart, Duclair, and Bennett have gone MIA.

They were able to sneak by Washington because Washington’s goaltending is average.

I’d dare say that if they don’t get secondary scoring then they would lose a series to both Tampa and Carolina as well as New York.

This statement is quite literally the proof of concept for why I was telling people we don't need 50 goal guys or 3 3 40 goal guys... Great teams will neutralize your top line..... there are 18 skaters balance is much harder to beat in the playoffs.
