This is it for me. His RAS score was identical to Mims (both very good), but if you looked, Mims 10 yard split and 3 cone were still elite and TMJ did not run the 3 cone and his 10 yard split was bad. That to me says he doesn’t have the quickness to get off the ball and get separation. He’s got top end spend once he gets going but that’s not really useful because almost DBs have good top end speed and if you don’t have quickness you can’t separate. His snap counts and results seem to indicate he’s not getting open enough for QBs to target him.

This is where I still get back to my feeling that our player evaluations/FO are just as bad as our coaching.

It would be worth looking back at his college tape to see if he was getting separation in college or he was just being schemed open a bunch. I haven't seen very much evidence of him getting separation in the NFL. He didn't qualify for the minimum in 2021, so I can't see him on NFL Next Gen Stats to see how he did.

    • Everybody made too much of that. The CBA and the 17 game schedule is what kills the cohesion we see in teams across the league in the opening games.  You decide, look at your depth and make informed decisions there or you get a an extra quarter or whatever two quarters with your ones.  Teams that are set don’t have those openings as much down the roster to evaluate but that ain’t everybody. It is quandary. I think they need that 4th preseason game back. But as I said, I don’t lay that as the excuse for Bryce to come out looking like he does to start seasons. He has an entire camp.
    • Hey I said the 1pm west coast team, I said the up down up down and we were due for the up week.  You can’t know what is going to happen. There was a guy that detailed why the league would engineer a Panthers win to bring LA Rams back to the pack in conference standings.  Who really knows, and how much real belief do you have when citing these things? I generally have as much as my superstition allows. It rarely rises to an emotional experience. Usually it is more analytical. In terms of interest. When crazy poo happens and we win a game like today I for sure enjoy it.  I mean you have to think about it, how many times do you connect 2 4th and short situations for TDs? Who does that? That is like the most embarrassing thing for the Rams’ defense lol. That never happens and should never happen.  Expecting it to happen might not be a good plan. But it was pretty great
    • The defense has mostly stuck to the "break slowly" and get a turnover or two still zero pass rush
