It's the end of an era, James Earl Jones has retired from voicing Darth Vader

James Earl Jones is officially retiring as the voice of Star Wars' Darth Vader as he signs over the voice rights to Lucasfilm and Respeecher.

An icon is putting his time in a franchise to bed as James Earl Jones has officially retired as Star Wars' Darth Vader. The Oscar winner first debuted as the iconic Star Wars villain in the original 1977 film, giving voice to the Sith Lord while David Prowse physically portrayed the character. Jones would provide most follow-up voice performances for Darth Vader on both the big and small screen in the franchise.

Reminds me of this. I thought she had done specific recordings for a project at Paramount  to preserve her voice but apparently not.

David Prowse was pissed when he found out they weren’t using his voice for the character he played on screen.

    • We had Darnold in a terrible situation for Sam Darnold and the team he's QBing. Darnold is best deployed as a high level game manager. He has elite throwing skills but he's disaster waiting to happen when he has to press and a QB has to press on a bad team. Seattle is a great spot for him surrounded with great weapons with an elite defense to lean on.  Swap him and Stafford last night and the Seahawks cruise while Darnold has 3-4 turnovers having to try to play hero ball for the Rams.
    • This picture was posted by the NFL back in September and shows Darnold and Maye at the front closest to the Lombardi trophy. I personally don’t believe in the “script” theory. I do believe that the NFL will influence specific games to get a more entertaining outcome at times. However, this is gaining some steam online and even got a response from NFL PR.
    • In the last 5 years, nearly 10% of the NFL's starting QBs (19% of the NFC QBs) were / are (at some point) on the Panther's roster.  Of those QBs, their 2025 win percentage (regular season) was (combined-- the Seahawks, Bucs, and Panthers) won 30 of 51 games--nearly 60%--in 2025.  At an average of 10 wins per season, a team has a better than 90% chance of making the playoffs.  (Heck, I nearly added Caleb Williams to this forumula since we basically gave the Bears their QB as well).
