he is sick of the bullshit, we have literally killed his love for the game. thanks Rhule!

If bad years kill your love for the game you never had any. Larry Fitzgerald played years and years with crappy QBs and still put up solid HOF numbers. Not once did that man coast and it's why he was fun to watch. You can literally see DJ give up on a play after a defender touches him. Coaches see that and when the new coach starts rebuilding the WRs DJ might not be there.

For all the folks defending him, please rewatch the tape.  Getting open is a matter of high effort on every play, regardless if you are the intended target or not.  DJ is not doing that, and it's not the first time he's been lazy.

DJ has the ability to be Steve Smith.  But he's not playing NEARLY at the effort level of 89.  He's not even playing at the level he has shown in the past.

If we see these sorts of metrics, the coaching staff sees them.  And then it becomes a loop.  Staff sees he isn't getting open, they call fewer plays for him, so his effort goes down, and he gets open less, staff sees . . . etc.

DJ can control one thing:  his effort.  It's currently not there and it's very fair to call it out, even when we like the player.

This. It's the funchess metric. Dude was a good WR but if he didn't get the ball it was coasting all game. I remember seeing a quote from a DB in the 90s and he said he would always know when the cowboys were running the ball because Irving wouldn't Velcro his gloves together because he knew he wasn't getting the ball. This is the same for DJ Moore. The reason the Ball is going to CMC way too much is because DJ isn't getting open and doing his job.

    • Some people have been beaten down so long they have no standards. Can't be reasoned with.
    • Getting better, might be fairly charitable. We finished 1-3 with the pressure on. That is for sure not trending up.  I don’t see a clear run of performances that prove he has taken it to another level. Not yet.  I would say he played really well in the WC game. And folded on that last series where we still had a chance. I think he threw one good ball. That last series is the kind of thing a player is supposed to learn from and not repeat. We have to see him do it before we can credit him for doing it.    I would also say he has not done enough of playing at his ceiling and what we should expect as the game in game out norm is still not established.  We gonna get MNF in SF or we gonna get the WC game? Seattle or Atlanta yardage record?   Besides that he has three years of horrendous play to start the season hanging over him. Are we going to get that again or will he be over that? We can’t know that. Mind you, that isn‘t two of three it is three of three he has yet to play well to start the year as a pro. Ofer.    So, many questions remain.    As far as weapons and help… said it before. Fix the OL so we can protect him.  It is time for a 1.1 pick in his 4th season, third year in the same offense, to elevate the players we have given him. You can’t keep up the level of investment dedicated to propping him up, you have to prop up the defense too and get some balance.
    • Yeah, just got back to the house from doing some actual work, hopefully they create some better chances in the second half. 3-1 looks tough for you
