Both. Easily both. Team looked tired. Leafs didn’t look good. Freddie just let the softest goal I have ever seen. Raanta is better this year so far.

Looks just like the teams from the past 4 years. Going to make the playoffs, but doesnt look like they are going to the Final.

Man this season is hitting different. We just don't seem the same. I guess we will see.

What is the record of an NHL head coach of consecutive years of going to the playoffs before winning the Cup? Or are those coaches usually canned before they go to the Final?

Freddie's save percentage is atrocious thus far. Of course, some of that has to do with him not seeing a lot of shots. But, last night as an example, he only saw 21 shots and let 3 in. 1 was soft, the third was amateur hour stuff. No matter if Slavin got worked, there's no way that goal should have slid under that easily.

And let's talk about Slavin's play.... it's suffering with Brent Burns on the other side. Slavin is not comfortable with Burns and he seems to be working overtime trying to cover for Burns. Burns will make a good play, but he'll also make 3 bad ones in between the good ones. Toney DeAngelo got away with being a little more aggressive and jumping in on occasion or pinching deep, but he has the speed and quickness to make up for it. Burns does not. Slavin doesn't trust him yet, and it's costing the team defense.

The team's issues right now are the blue line, specifically the Slavin-Burns pair and Chatfield. The new guys are still developing trust and the pairings are not comfortable with each other yet. I wouldn't mind seeing Chatfield on the bench for a couple games and let Coghlan get some ice time.

Let’s be real though. We won three in a row against good teams before losing last night.  We will be just fine. I do agree burns isn’t making the best plays and Slavin is covering up for him.  
 

Give it time and it will get better.
