Rarely mentioned QB option for next year: Trade for Matt Leinart

What's that? Ask Bronco fans? So you're saying that they made out very well for trading for a quarterback that people said couldn't get it done with his old team? Thanks for proving my point.

You really think Leinart is on their level? Really? The QBs you listed are all massive flops that do nothing but throw pick after pick after pick.

Look, I'm not going to be opposed to drafting a rookie quarterback that's going to hopefully start some time next season. If you want to go that route, I'm fine with that. I'm also liking the idea of Leinart. I do *not* want any of these free agent quarterbacks that have never looked good or haven't looked good in a very long time like Jason Campbell or Tarvaris Jackson.

If I recall correctly, in one of Leinart's last appearances he threw three picks in a fairly short span.

The only difference between those guys and leinart is that he wouldn't be a free agent. We'd actually have to give something up to get him :nonod:

I wouldn't be opposed to Bulger, but the Rams aren't going to cut him loose and start Clausen or whichever franchise quarterback they draft right away. Bulger will still be a Ram next year. The odds of the Cards parting ways with Leinart are much higher than the Rams parting ways with Bulger next year.

You think the Cardinals would rather part with the guy they drafted in the first round to be their future to stay with a guy who's nearing retirement and Brian St Pierre as a backup than the Rams dropping a guy who's older and isn't starting full seasons when they have Kyle Boller and will likely draft a rookie?

Seriously?

ROFL that SMF is finally positive about something and it is that Matt Lienarts a good QB that we should trade Pep or Stewart for!

E-Cat mentioned it and it is, beyond his suckiness, the biggest reason I wouldn't want him. He is left handed.

kyle "i shoulda been a" boller or brian st pierre as a backup? advantage push. really though, i hope the rams get a qb and kick bulger to the curb. bulger as a stop gap could be good, but you better have the backup on the sidelines warming up. bulger hasnt been the most durable guy (yeah he has a poo o-line to partially thank).

i am pulling for troy smith.

No, other than sitting next to a lefty in a booth at a restuarant is a pain in the ass if you are on the outside.

Left handed QB's require a lot of change. That, to me, is what caused a lot of VY's problems early on and what makes his recent turnaround remarkable. Not just for him but for the coaching staff also.

only if you have assigned seats :)

It's nice to have a left-handed son...we always sit on the same side of the table, hehe. In fact, he was born right-handed but I had enough of being the lone lefty always having to acquiesce to the righty dominated world, so when he was a baby I broke him of that poo damn quick...so now I have an ally!
