I dont understand needing Max to help us out with scoring, but then doing nothing to replace him with 10 mil in cap. If we do nothing from here out, im not even watching the playoffs unless we make the final, which I doubt. I dont want to waste my time. The panthers taught me not to waste my time with bullshit.

Max was insurance in case Necas and Jarvis were still not quite ready for primetime. They both stepped up and we haven't needed Max as much as we thought.

And Ghost over Chych leaves us enough room to still bring in a Schmaltz or Hayes level top 6 forward.

As of yesterday, we still had the second highest odds to win the cup. We have upgraded the 4th line and our 3rd pairing. And we still have ~$4-6m and 36 hours to work with...

On TNT, Friedman just said we might be in on Mikael Backlund from Calgary.

We could make it work if Calgary retains 50%.

The lineup would be:

Svechnikov - Aho - Jarvis

Teravainen - Backlund - Necas

Martinook - Staal - Fast

Noesen - Kotkaniemi - Puljujarvi

Slavin - Burns

Skjei - Pesce

Gostisbehere - Chatfield

de Haan

Andersen

Raanta

Chychrun to the Sens for a price we could easily beat.

I agree here, I have no clue why we didn't do this.

The only thing I can point to is that Chychrun has been injury prone and I guess Waddles and the Canes Brain Trust probably considered what happened with Gardiner.  That's the only hesitation I can see.

It’s frustrating for sure. But we have an elite team. And this time (so far) we are going into the playoffs with a healthy goalie.

Freddy has to be in God mode though.  He has flashed that mode in some games, but he isn't playing nearly as well as he did before he got hurt last year.

On the PP for sure. 5v5? I’m not so sure

I would say 5v5 we have - Puljujarvi is pretty solid defensively, and I really hope the change of scenery and playing with his fellow Finns brings out the scoring everyone thought he had.

I think Ghost will need to focus on his Defense for the playoff run, other than the slump he had in Philly the knock on him has always been his Defense.

Luckily. 5v5 most teams can’t beat us.

Boston, Toronto, and the Rags got much better and dangerous.

We are good defensively, but let there be no doubt we have to bring it in the playoffs.  No shifts off......

The last two years in the playoffs I have seen guys take shifts "off" in my mind, and it's unacceptable.  I don't care if we are down by 2 goals you play as hard as you can when the playoffs get here.
