I still don’t get the bridge QB poo. We’ve spent $70M+ on poo to give us 17 wins in three years but also not having our choice of good rookie QBs. Heck, add in Kyle Allen when Cam went down. If we just went Grier in 2019, we’d have Justin Herbert.

Stop wasting cap space. Draft a rookie and start him or start Corral for a few. Either they pick it up and become useful or we are in good shape to take a run at Williams or Maye. I’m assuming we didn’t pick a QB at 9 or above, unless the looked like Rosen.

Starting Grier in 2020 and riding him to the #1 pick should have been year 1 of Rhule’s 7 year plan to a dynasty

I’d rather have Brissett if we have to go the bridge route.
I have see enough of Darnold to know we can’t trust him long enough to have the team in the right spot for the rookie to take over.
Likely what will happen is we force the rookie into action too early because Darnold’s expiration date arrived.

Darnold, like every backup, HAS an expiration date.

There’s hardly a difference between Darnold or Brissett. I don’t want either one starting more than a few games

Darnold went 4-2 in 2022 without his best weapon and an OC who wasn't that great. Imagine what he could do with Reich who is a quarterback guru and will bring a good scheme for our qbs to thrive. I will be very interested to see how Reich sees him and whether he thinks he fits with our future plans.

    • That's fair, but I've also never said you can't enjoy a win, there is a big difference between enjoying a win and sticking your head in the sand about our issues, which is what so many who are "just enjoying the win because of how bad we've been lately" are doing. You can enjoy a win while also seeing the realities, and if you're a fan who can just enjoy those wins, more power to you.  But I'd prefer to see improvement over bad wins, and sure, I'd rather see wins and improvement in the same game, but if that's not an option, give me improvement in a loss over frustration in a win. I genuinely don't understand why that's a controversial take, as I'm literally rooting for the thing that will help us contend faster, even if that won't be very fast.
    • Yeah. Pretty obvious there. One thing I saw less of than normal (my perception) is the behind the LOS attempts.
    • The irony here is interesting You say the change won't happen overnight, so you're good with enjoying the wins despite not showing actual improvement. You're right, it's not going to change overnight, which is why so many of us are rooting for seeing improvement right now over bad wins right now, because you have to start somewhere if you ever hope to improve. Winning ugly doesn't help us in the future, but showing improvement would
