Would anyone else have been a #1 pick if they had gone to Alabama this year?

I'll play. Yes. Saben would tailor the offense to maximize their strengths. Given the talent of the 4 I could see any of them in the conversation as the 1st overall had they gone to Bama.

How often does the #1 pick come from bama?

Was it right guy in the right situation, right guy who could have been at any situation, or right situation that would have benefitted anyone?

Also, would Young have done as good or better than Stroud at OSU?

And would Stroud have done as well or better than Young at Bama?

Alabama probably had less talent on offense this year but a better coach so it probably ends up very similar if you switch the QBs IMO.  Young would thrive with all of those weapons and Saban/O'Brien would have Stroud looking as good as Day did with less around him (last year only).

Yes. All of the above. If you switch the 2 it would have ended about the same. It's a team game. Neither are head a shoulders above the other. Except for size of course.  Then someone comes up short.

This is where I'm at with the whole situation.

I prefer Stroud but man....BY, IMO, has more superstar potential. It's a matter of whether he can play 17+ games a year, and do it in December/January in cold weather, harsh environments.

Young could be a superstar though. He's an outlier, but at some point, someone of his stature will break the mold. It would be horrible in retrospect to have missed out on it....serious FOMO.

The 5'9" QB revolution will not be televised.

    • I don't think so. I think once you're measuring electronically, the spot is where the sensor says it is. So if it says half yard short of the line to gain, that's the spot. Now how that works with scrums and the ball moving on two minute drills and poo is anybody's guess.
