What brand do you use and where do you order? Pool stores are too much and sams and lowes stuff sucks I think

I like Zapit 73% if I can get a good deal on it, or Doheny's.  I use google shopping and go with the good deals that pop up as long as I feel the distributor is legit. I'll use In The Swim, too.

What's your PH?  Floc seems to work better with a slightly higher ph.  Or maybe you needed to let it settle another 24 hours?  I haven't even taken the cover off of mine yet.  Letting the tree frogs have their babies first.

Ph is 7.6-7.8ish it's a bit clearer today

5 weeks down and it's still swimmable! I have to stay on it ALL THE TIME and it blows through shock like nobodies business. When I have it replastered next year I'm going to have to get the main drain fixed and add a second skimmer. I have to vacuum to waste weekly then refill and shock the poo out of it because the current single skimmer on 45000 gallons cannot keep it remotely clean

Absolutely. With one over-worked skimmer, it's allowing dirty water in the pool longer, which just exponentially exacerbates the issue, which is why you're having to stay on top of it. Adding a second skimmer will get the crap out quicker, allowing it less time to make things worse.

I might also recommend one of the cordless vacuums that cruises the pool, too.

Yeah I had a dolphin but it stopped working. It also never really got the fine particles out which is what I struggle with anyway.  Still blue today but the shock I ordered won't be here till Saturday so hopefully it stays good at least 2 more days. I'm at 72 pounds of shock in 6 weeks lol but when it got a bit green I did go through 20 pounds getting it back. My daughter loves to get in every single day so it's definitely worth all the hassle.
