How did that shot go in?  LET’S GO CANES!!!

An intercepted puck by Stepan, a pass to Stastny who makes a no look shot from the side that catches Sorokin by surprise. A deflection off Sorokin’s pad and through a little gap in his 5 hole. Has to be viewed in slo-mo. That little puck was meant for destiny and found its way home. It was the little puck that could.

Sorokin had that squared up pretty well, puck went in just the right place to deflect in off his lower right pad.

Stastny lasered that puck, he didn't have much of a choice TBH as the Isles already had 3 men back on defense.

Puck luck finally came on home for the Canes!!

That goal was 100% on Sorokin. He kept his pad up so he could go high if he needed to. Stastny understood that and went low. It was a perfectly placed shot.

4th liner Paul Stastny has 3 goals in the 6 games including the series winning OT goal. A long time Pro really contributing in the playoffs!

Little tid bit from the Bally broadcast, we are 11-0 this season if Pesce gets an assist. I think it’s in overtime but I’ll have to go rewatch the broadcast.

You’re right, Pesce had an assist on the Aho goal, in the 3rd period. Stepan had the assist on the Stastny OT goal.

Do you have the NHL AP? I have it setup for the Canes, great for checking game info and stats.

    • Ravens mixing it up with a random Mark Andrew tush push last year isn't a similar situation.  Lamar has run QB sneaks his entire career.  And often instead of a traditional sneak will even employ a 4th and 1 direct snap to Lamar simply because of how athletic he is (which even Cam did a lot of) and let him pick his own holes.
    • height being an issue doesn't just mean batted balls.  You could argue Bryce minimizes batted balls by adopting other poor habits such as his jump passing and leaving the pocket.   As I said, there are plays you can point to where he clearly was blind to parts of the field/players....which kills plays and opportunity. Which actually means some of the shorter/hot throws when things break down are where his vision gets blocked (and he had below average production all around the line of scrimmage).   has he figured it out? I mean, he improved off a trainwreck start.  But Bryce Young since arriving in the league (even while figuring it out)......doesn't generate much offensive production vs his peers.  I just think his ceiling is low.   And that's not in the grand scheme what you want in the NFL.  I think he can develop into a serviceable QB, that will largely always been a middle of the pack or low end starter.
    • People make a lot of noise about his footwork and I think it is overblown. Whether he takes 3 steps backwards or 5 small steps doesn't matter as long as he ends up at the right depth and is in sync with  the receiver regarding timing. If he does that consistently who cares as long as he has a firm stable base as he delivers the ball. Which he does need to work on. However even that is somewhat overblown given that often QBs have to throw off balance or from different arm angles to fit the ball around defenders. He is considered very accurate so apparently it isn't hurting him that much.
