The QB position

Lets assume Matt Moore finishes 2-2 down the stretch. What do you do next offseason? Do we keep Delhomme on the roster? Is Matt Moore the answer? Do we draft a player like a Sam Bradford? Do we let go of Mcown and bring up Hunter Cantwell? (who Fox said has promise) My personal favorite would be to somehow get rid of Jake, and our roster be

1. Moore

2. Bradford (w/e rookie)

3. Cantwell (who if sucks i will call Hunter Cant "throw" well)

With an open competition going into camp.

Ummm I really think a combination of Moore, rookie and Cantwell is asking for trouble. Yes it may pay off, but you need a veteren in there somewhere as an insurance policy.

Plus I have a sneaky suspicion Jakes contract might negate any release. Unless another FO comes in, but then if they come in chances are Moore might not be around either.

I think this would be a good lineup for a UFL franchise but would really be quite disasterous for an NFL team. With this lineup you are "hoping" that Moore becomes a seasoned leader that is capable of starting and winning. To me this is much more reckless than what the FO did this past offseason in signing Delhomme to an extension. They were "hopeful" that Delhomme would be able to bounce back but at least here was some basis for this based on JD's past ability to win.

Regardless, they should draft a quarterback next year (or pick one up through free agency).

If Matt Moore plays at a decent level, then keep him around and let him start while a rookie is developed (scary thought in Carolina, I know). Jake is a horrible starter, but there is no better backup available for this team (plus we would take a cap hit by cutting him anyway).

    • When we have everyone playing like they should, we can win the Cup. That has been the biggest problem when we get to the playoffs, but this year seems to be fixed mostly. We could have had multiple if we had done this in the past.
    • Here we go Bryce Stan’s you should love this. Hell it may be one of you.  It has every cliche excuse and then some.  Unintentionally hilarious my limit was reached when he said Bryce had it hard because four play callers.
    • Luke goes in to the specifics of what he looked to accomplish in joint practices.  Basically they may work with someone on the opposing team to stress something they feel is a weakness in their own game in a different way that can be done with someone they are familiar with. That they can have predetermined stresses but since neither wants to get injured and it has absolutely no bearing on anything there is not the level of concern that would be in a preseason game.  He would also even chat with opposing OC.   It seems like an interesting nuance among the vets and savy pros.
