If Delhomme Starts Sunday....

Jake completed 7-14 passes(50%) in AZ game, which was dominated by our Defense and Running Game, Jake just had to not screw up the 14 times he got to pass the ball, many of which were short passes.

Hilarious the Jake Lovers use this game as an example to Start Jake over Moore, then turn around and criticize Moore for completing 50% of his passes against New England in cold, wet and windy conditions.

Its the other way around. Jake bashers say his 94 rating doesn't count because he threw only 14 passes and we ran all day, then turn around and say that Moore's 82 rating and 10 points against NE shows how well he is doing.

Funy thing is that 10 total points and completing 50% of his passes is exactly what Moore did against NE. Sure he threw a TD and didn't fumble but he played against a much worse defense and yet by your double standards, Moore played great.

you make zero sense. In that game Jake put up zero points and committed 2 turnovers....yet you want to compare it to a game Moore put points up and didn't record a turnover.

your arm must hurt with all the reaching you do around here.

I have never said Moore played great in any game. He is not Jake though, and that is a very good thing now.

Was that the one that just looked at history for the past 7 years and predicted a 7-9 finish like every other year. Brilliant and insightful.

Nah, thats the one where after being a camp a few days I said the energy level was down and the focus was gone. The one where you said thats BS and that the Panthers were super awesome still.

Yeah, that one. ;)

Moore threw 30 passes vs. NE, this being in COLD, WET(hello slippery, heavier ball), and windy conditions. vs. perfect dome conditions in AZ, where Jake attempted 14 passes... if we are seriously comparing the 2 outings.

Moore can do the following that Jake can't:

1) throw the long ball beleivably: Two games, two long balls completed to Smith.

2) more mobile in pocket

on top of that, Jake's career as a starter is over, he was playing on house money anyway. Season is over, you play Moore to get him his experience.

Benching Jake is the honorable thing to do. Kinda like when a Racing Horse breaks a leg and you put him down, something Jake also knows about.

they both suck...the season is lost, lets worry about next year.

Problem for me is that I have tickets to two more home games that I want to win. I suppose it is easy to just write off games when you have no investment in them. Or people can hope for the worst and get in for 5 or 10 bucks a game while those of us who are PSLs pay regular rate no matter how sucky the product.

Show me where i say that. I went to camp a few days as well and had lots to say but I surely don't remember the words super awesome.

I may have said that I wasn't down on them as much as you were but wasn't that excited either. In fact I was the one that predicted after the first 3 games we would be 1-2 or even 0-3. I hoped the offense would keep us afloat until the defense caught up. I was right about the defense but not the offense. But if that is super awesome, I guess you can determine the time and space continuum you want to operate in since this is your message board.

    • I see they blamed Slavin for the goal like I did.
    • See this is the problem, you say "can't get off the line quick" and "can't separate quick" but in reality it's "he can get off the line better and create more separation" which are two completely different things. If he couldn't get off the line or separate, he wouldn't have put up the numbers he did and end up a Top 10 pick. But he can get better, and maybe more accurately, consistent with them both, and that will take his game to the next level.  These are things that are also much easier to improve once you get to the NFL than things like being a poor route runner or having bad hands, two of his strengths. Thinking he can't get open in the short passing game also shows you haven't watched enough tape on him, as he was used in that role so much in college with little issue getting open and making plays. And him not using his physicality as much isn't even something that hurts his game because he's so much more agile than a player of his size should be, which he used to his advantage.  Instead of throwing passes where he'd go up and box out a player like a TE or Mike Evans does, they use his athleticism and put the ball in places that only he can get to it, and he usually does (and yes, he'll still be able to do that against NFL DB's with his catch radius). But now that he's in the NFL, I'd like to see him get stronger and add that to his game because it also will help him take his game to another level. As I've said before, if he doesn't improve on those things at all, I think he's a Top 25 WR in this league, he's already that good.  But I think he'll improve on those things and be a perennial Top 10 WR and in his prime is considered and perform like Top 5 guy in some years. My expectations for him this year at 800 yards and 8 TDs (although I do think he'll get to 10 TDs) with a real chance at getting to 1,000.  But those expectations are because I think Thielen will lead the team in yards with close to 1k and XL/Coker each end up in the 500-600 range themselves, just too many mouths to feed this year for a rookie to dominate yardage, especially if we're running the ball well again. But if Thielen can't stay healthy or puts up sub 750 yards, then yea, my expectations for T-Mac likely shift to getting to 1k as a rookie.
    • Svech only 1 goal behind the guy they've pretty much already given the Conn Smythe to...
