Peppers/Ochocinco

Peppers had fun last night, you could see it in the way he played and I guarandam*ntee ya that Peppers will be here next year.

He needs to do it more than twice a year.

One day, probably in his 40s, he'll realize that he had, and blew, a chance at the HOF.

Winning a Superbowl for any team is a crap shoot. Look at the players who went to Denver hoping for that and then the coach is fired, Cutler is traded and things change.

Reality is, he has enough talent to be the best that ever was, and he only uses it when he feels like it, and that, is too bad, a pro athlete only gets so many Sundays.

Pep keeps our defense balanced. For a big guy he can cover and he is a force in the pass rush. He rarely misses tackles, but I aint gonna lie it was kinda funny watching him fall backwards away from favre last night. On the other hand I like Everette Brown and his will to play. That kid has heart...He might be small but his moves are similar to Dwight Freeney's. Id like to see pep and Brayton stay with this team...And to think about it, Thomas Davis will be back in uniform next year and so won't Ma'ake. The only bad thing is Connor still sitting behind Diggs...

I hate that he chooses when to play. The games he chooses to play, great; but he hasn't played a lot this year either. If I were a player on the team giving my all and seeing him get paid mega-$$$ to pick and choose games, I'd be pissed. I've worked with people who have better backgrounds than I do career-wise who barely do anything but have the rep as being great, they get paid way more than I do, so when I see them half-assing along, then it makes me unhappy and I do less as well.

I think sometimes we are a bit unfair to him. While he probably does take some snaps off, I think that this is overblown by the fans a bit. He is still dominant and still disruptive even when his numbers don't show it. At the same time, he is also facing some decent blocking, often 1-2 guys, and the schemes are NOT always for him just to bumrush the QB.

I'm not trying to say he doesn't have a "motor issue" sometimes, but I think we're overblowing it a slight bit. No player will have a night like he had EVERY night, no matter how good or how consistent. Just look at Allen; sometimes, you can gameplan around someone and remove them entirely.

I really hope Pepp stays. I think he's a great player and has tons of potential, even if he isn't able to realize it every game. He helps anchor what is turning into one of the top defenses in the NFL.
