I really hope this didn't get fox off the hotseat

I just know in the back of my mind that if he's back for another year, Jake will still win a "Quarterback competition" if there is one. I can see it now: "We appreciate all that Matt has done for us and we will contine to evaluate his progress going forward. It has been a opportunity to get a good look at all our options at the Quarterback position, and we believe Jake is still the best fit as far as what we look for in this offense".

BARF. the sad thing is that i could so see that happening.

I can't for the life of me see how beating up on a winning team in a game with ZERO playoff implications makes up for the shitty season he's given us in any way. If the team rebounded midseason then maybe, but it happened in the last quarter of the season. This happens every other year...the team makes the most out of a weak schedule and then the following year, when they're handed the 'tough' schedule of a winning team, they poo the bed. Time for Fox to go. Not saying that's what will happen, but it's what needs to happen.

This argument becomes truly brilliant when you realize the only two teams we had to play this year due to our good record were the Vikings and the Cards.

Fail.

Its the sadness that is the Carolina Panthers. We are a bend but dont break Organization. Im just coming to terms with it now so I am not pissed in the off-season. The only thing thats really gonna bother me is Jake will start next year. That and will let Matt Moore walk in favor of Josh McCowin.

I have not been a supporter of Fox this season. I was all ready for him to be gone.

However, the game plan and play calling against the Vikings was outstanding. That is how we should be attacking the opposition.

If he could muster that each week, I would be all for keeping him.

I dont think we should look any further than the field goal attempt before the end of the half. That pretty much sums up John Fox's tenure here; Tumultuous. Indecisive adjustments from personel to play-calling. Many of these things have been discussed in the past here so need to extrapolate further. If John Fox is here next year, one can only hope that Delhomme isn't the starter and Danny Crossman is gone.

If Delhomme starts next season, I will not watch another game until Joke and Fox are gone.

I think John Fox deserves to stay, I agree he should have pulled Jake earlier in the year, but he can win and he has showed us that. He has built a good team, and developed alot of young players. Next year is his year, and the Panthers are superbowl bound! As for jake he is signed for the next five years, Jake can win games and he's done it for us on numurous occations. I think they should keep him, but bring in guys to compete for the starting job, which if Matt Moore does good these last two games more than likely the jobs is his. Delhomme knows the offense though and has experience under his belt, he should stay on the roster to come in if needed. Even though he has been shakey this year he does have tremendous leadership skills.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
