It's called AI. Progressive, if you will....

You use a generative AI lately?  They would have the Panthers scoring 900 points a game, Bryce Young catching 100 TDs, and Brian Burns as the super bowl half time =P

Honestly, the Panthers are more than capable of getting in their own way.  They don't need anyone to write that story.

I can't imagine ESPN surviving much longer in its current form. Disney and Spectrum just got done with their slap fight and ESPN price seemed to be a sticking point.

Spectrum (aka Charter) was paying $200m *a month* to Disney for ESPN and all the other associated Disney channels. That's about $1.8b per year in licensing fees.

Charter took a stand and said, if we're going to pay you this much money AND you're competing with us with the proposed direct-to-consumer ESPN streaming service that's going to come eventually.... either give us something more favorable to the consumer or you'll lose out on some much-needed cable money.  So Charter subscribers are getting access to Disney's ad-supported streams and other stuff.... and footing a higher ESPN charge along the way for the effort.

I suspect the other cable companies will try to negotiate a similar situation when their contracts come up for renewal with Disney

Thanks, was worried I might not be able to catch the game on antenna. Side note, wish all our games weren’t on Fox. Fox signal on my antenna is absolute poo no matter what I do. Get everything else crystal clear.

I'm antenna as well. I get it great on 1 tv, and hardly at all on the other. Makes no sense, same antenna on both.

    • I am no football savant as has been demonstrated here over and over, but I saw it.  I went for years doing the mock draft thing and researching the players that we might get around our pick, time consuming stuff. And we would get to the draft and trade the pick. All that time, wasted.  So I quit doing that. Also realized I was not a scout and would never be a scout and went to looking the videos and reports After  we picked a guy.  Maybe I would look at the 1st round, but quit that too and just looked after we picked.    When they did that trade I saw Bryce and his size and just ruled him out. Then it got to yeah they are probably going to take him, I relented and looked at some video and got to his pro day. It took me all of a few minutes to see the issues. The footwork. The arm. And the tape of games? The backyard style. I knew, what can I say?  (Also, went down the physical checklist, not a single plus attribute on the NFL level. Arm, speed, size, etc, nothing to offset the negatives. nothing)  I think it was easy for me because I had not watched a single game he played in college, and wasn’t drawn in by the hype. Had no preconceived notions and just looked at it pretty clinically.  I got in here and everyone was going “but look at what he did in college! It is the SEC, if he can do it in the SEC he can do it in the NFL!” Couldn’t reason with hardly anyone.  I don’t think I could tell you which guy would succeed between two prototypical guys with great arms and athleticism, and have no special insight into any of that. My one calling in football scouting was to see the real about what we were about to do. And you still don’t know for sure until they get in a real game in the NFL.
    • Miss Bryce sorely is possibly the most hilarious statement I have read on the Huddle in quite some time.
    • He did only throw 1 pass 20+ in that game. I think he is still struggling to adjust to the NFL. At Alabama he was able to extend plays and play backyard football. That's not only not the style of offense we have been running but his physical skills don't lend themselves to that style of play at this level.  So, the amount of issues he actually has to clean up are WAAAAAY more than I anticipated as a guy that had Bryce #1 on my board in that draft class.  I am just not seeing a reasonable path for him to clean it all up and develop in a reasonable timeframe
